I as a developer have an application that I can run from my box or from a
shared drive, but I cannot get anybody else to run it. They do have the same
version of the framework on their boxes, yet they are unable to run the
application. What do I need to do. The error is not a security exception

Dear all
I'm well into designing my first ever Access database which is
currently about 13 megs (.mdb file) containing data on progress and
attainment of approx 500 students. What I want to know is this: to
make the database available to approx. 30 colleagues on the school
intranet, do I need to change it into a .mdw file and give everyone a
login name and password, or can multiple users open the .mdb file at
the same time? I'm on...

Hi,
I get this everytime I try to run some code I have. I loked it up on
MSDN and was informed that this had something to do with calling
SystemInformation.Username property of System.Windows.Forms.
However, my code does not invoke that method. Any ideas as to why I'm
getting this cryptic message ?

Researched this, but none of the proposed solutions are working for me.
Am hoping for some insight.
Am trying to open a binary file that exists on a shared drive for
reading. Code lives inside a .NET web app and looks like this:
FileStream fs = new FileStream(_documentInfo.DocFile, FileMode.Open,
FileAccess.Read);
This statement generates error:

This is a simple example of a numeric only text box. It allows only the
entry of integer values. The advantage of this example is that it also
handles user attempts to past non integer text data into the text box...

I've been distributing a fairly mature, very specific MS Access
application to end users in small offices of colleges for several years
now. This is a part-time venture and low volume operation- this is
somewhat of a hobby for me. Many of my end users are computer phobic
and get little support from their IT departments. It is a split
database so the datafile gets put on the file server and the 3
different front ends get put on each local...

Hi Guys,
I just complicated my database and I wanted to know what is the best practice for staff to access the APP. I have split my DB in 2. The back end stores the data and the front end is the App. The database will be placed on a network drive. In my DB I have 4 different forms, there are 4 different staff using the DB. Each have different task to do which is why I had to create different forms. The best way I thought for distributing the...

I developed some web pages and stored those pages on a "removable drive".
All was right with the world. I then took the "removable drive" and moved it
to another machine but mapped that drive with the same drive letter on the
"home machine". Now when I bring up those web pages within VS 2005, I get
this error which refers me to KB article 810886 which tells me that I need to
increase the values for "MaxCmds" & "MaxMpxCt". I increased...

Hello,
I'm getting into Python now after years of Perl, and as part of my
research I must understand how to do some common tasks I need.
I have a bunch of Windows PCs at work to which I want to distribute an
application I've developed on my PC. All these PCs have Python 2.5
installed.
If my application contains only code I've developed, I simply zip its

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
