comp.databases vs microsoft.publi c.access NewsGroup

Looking for the "moderator" of the comp.databases newsgroup, I could
not find one; (not sure if there actually is one). So I'll toss this
one into the ring......

The other day I discovered that "microsoft.publ ic.access" has 39
separate newsgroups under this one...from table design to macros to
form design, etc)
http://groups.google.com/groups/dir?sel=33606877&hl=en

Understanding the the traffic on some of these newsgroups is little to
few, so others have lots more posts. While all 39 of these newsgroups
under"public.ac cess" appear to be more specialized in content, would
there be any real advantage of posting to any of those vs. posting
only in the "comp.databases " newsgroup for all Access subject matter?
Is there Access subject matter that is "off limits" to
"comp.databases " and thus better served in one of the
microsoft.publi c.access groups?

thanks...

No. I think each newsgroup fills a specific niche. This one,
however, seems to be more of a "catch-all". I rarely post on the
other Access forums, I get the majority of info I need on this one.

comp.databases. ms-access is an unmoderated newsgroup, so you are correct,
there is not a moderator.

On the subjects specific to the newsgroups in the Microsoft-sponsored
hierarchy, you are likely to get good answers on the particular topic to
which the newsgroup is devoted. comp.databases. ms-access has some
knowledgeable people who respond to posts, but many good posters who used to
post here, after some trolling incidents, do not participate -- some of
those participate in the sponsored newsgroups.

comp.databases. ms-access and microsoft.publi c.access both deal with the
broad spectrum of Access topics, and either is a good starting point, if you
aren't sure of the topic within Access to pick one of the many sponsored
newsgroups.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
