Hi!
Im working on some research for a asset management system. We will use
python as our primary platform. As a opensource programmer the obvious
question is; are there any opensource systems available?
I found an article about ilm's system (story from python.org), sounds
very interesting. Im looking for more information about similar
systems (of course python based!), all feedback is welcome!

Hi, does anyone know of some open source asset management software developed
using the .NET framework??
Our IT department needs some software written that keeps track of computers/
printers/ software etc and rather than reinventing the wheel :)
Cheers

Hi all,
I'm planning on building an asset management tool for our local network.
I have a question I would like to ask:
Is it possible to use PHP/MYSQL/JS etc. as a "metadata" structure and
when trying to retreive a file (mostly files over a 100MB) not sending
it over http, but use some other (faster) way for that, like calling a
batch script or something (I understand there are security issues to be
dealt with), but using the local...

Hello, I am fairly new to creating databases with access.
I am using Access 2003 and have created an Asset tracking database.
I have a form to enter the asset information with the primary key as the asset ID#, on this form I would like to add a button to open an upgrade form. On the upgrade form I would like to have the Asset ID# field automatically filled in with the one on the form that the button resides. Any ideas? I think that this...

Hi, I am a front end web designer/developer and analyst...struggling with putting an accordian flash xml menu together. I have it done except I need to add a simple trademark symbol circle with r. I am struggling with how to do this since I am not savvy in actioncript. I assume the best way is to add it is with a CDATA child node, but do not know how or whatever is the best way to get this done since am on a tight deadline. I need someone to...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
