Hi,
I'm an access newbie. It is a great little toy and I'm trying to get better at it all the time.
I am trying to design a form that will feed into a table. For example sake we will say there are three fields:
1-Unique #
2-Container #
3-Cartons
The Unique # is a number generated from earlier work and will be manually entered.
The Container # is the # of a particular container.
The Cartons are the count of cartons.
Okay, here is where I'm running into issues. The Unique # is the way I'm going to link up all the various parts of my database. I have tons of data coming from all over the place and there is nothing that links. I had to create a number that will I'll be able to run my queries and reports off of. On this form I'm trying to build there could be anywhere from 1 to 15 entries. I want them all going back to the same table and I want to be able to see them as I'm entering.
The problem I'm having is that the when I enter the Unique # on this form for a second time it is pulling up the data for the other fields also. The Unique # will be used for multiple records on this form but the Container # and Cartons will be different for each different record. Any thoughts on what I should do?
Thank you in advance for all of your help. This looks like an awesome site.
Eddie.

Eddie,
Can you give a little more information about your db? For example, from what you say here, it sounds like a given container can have X number of cartons in it and that's what you're trying to capture. But it seems that there is a larger entity that can encompass multiple containers as well and that's what the Unique# refers to, maybe? What are the "1 to 15" entries that you refer to? If you can provide more details on what you're trying to capture and what the "tons of data coming from all over the place" :) is, that will give us all a better idea of what you're trying to accomplish.

Hello,
I have a form where a user may paste multiple records. The form has an
AfterInsert procedure. The procedure copies the newly inserted record
into a different table for audit purposes.
When one record is pasted, all is working fine. If multiple records
are pasted, the AfterInsert event gets fired before the Paste
Confirmation Dialog Box, therefore no records are inserted into my
audit table.

I'm trying to use online samples for submitting multiple records from ASP
into a stored procedure. Failing! Through the below form, a user could be
submitting many records at a time. I'm not getting any records inserted. For
troubleshooting, I cut the form down to 1 textbox and when submitted it
populated 5 rows of the same data. So I know I'm connected, but not getting
the LOOP and NEXT correct? How do I set this up so many records can be...

Hi, I have been successful copying a vba code from one of your posts on
how to copy and paste a record by declaring the desired fields that
needs to be copied in form's declaration and creating two button "copy"
and "paste". Works like magic.
My problem is how can I copy multiple records and paste them at the
same time. My data entry form has main form that has a Questionlist box
of Questions. The second list box on the same form displays...

Hi all,
It's a novice question and hopefully someone could help me out. I've
designed an access form for entering patient information. Right now
it needs to be modified in the way that the form users will first be
shown a webpage-type front page that prompts the user to 1) enter new
patient information 2) search patient with keywords or id, before
accessing/modifying the actual database.
Can anyone shed some lights on how to do so? ...

First off, let me say this is a great site! I've just started working with Access and much of my success is from what I've read here!
Background: I have a form, driven off a single table.
Goal: To have multiple fields copied and pasted into multiple records with a single button click.
Work Done: In the form I have multiple fields, but for my question let's just refer to FIELD 1 and FIELD 2. I would like to copy the value of FIELD 2 and...

I need to tie multiple records to one autonumber. For example, I am entering vendor savings into access. I need access to autonumber my first record for each vendor. Each vendor has multiple ship points and each one will be a new record. Is there a way to tie each record to the autonumber assigned to the first record for that vendor?

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
