Hi posting again because no answer to previous..
tring to loop through a recordset and update a record, thing is it
only updates the first record in the table rather than searching
through the entire table or records returned, and updating a record if
certain criteria is met.
shouldn't the while loop do this?
I know my syntax must be wrong, but difficult to work out how or where
table = String(Request.Cookies("table"));

I have a scenario where two tables are in a One-to-Many relationship
and I need to move the data from the Many table to the One table so
that it becomes a One-to-One relationship.
I need to salvage the records from the many table and without going
into detail, one of the reasons I can't do the opposite as
there are records in the ONE table that I need to keep even if they
don't have any child records in the MANY table.
Below I created...

I am trying to turn a short and fat (63 columns) table into one that is tall
and skinny (7 columns). Basically, I am trying to create a "reverse
crosstab" using a looping structure in VBA along with SQL. I'd like to take
the name of the column and input it into a descritor field.
This isn't the table, but will serve as a better illustration than the real
deal.
If the table looks like this:

Hi,
I have a stored procedure that has to extract the child records for
particular parent records.
The issue is that in some cases I do not want to extract all the child
records only a certain number of them.
Firstly I identify all the parent records that have the requird number
of child records and insert them into the result table.

What I would like to do is, for all of the records in descending order

Well, I think it's complex anyway -- you might not :)
TableDef:
CREATE TABLE CustTransactions (
TransactionKey int IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
CustomerID int,
AmountSpent float,
CustSelected bit default 0);
TransactionKey is the primary key, CustomerID and AmountSpent are both

Hi All,
I am fetching a dataset from the database under some condition. After
this I create a data table. Traverse in the original dataset & add
each row to created data table as it is through LoadDataRow method.
After adding the row I just update 4-5 columns out of 20 columns in
the row. After entire looping I fire the AcceptChanges method on data
table. After this I am trying to update this data back to database in
two ways -
1) Merge...

I'm using OleDb to connect with an Access Database. I have anywhere from
10 to over 100 records that I need to either INSERT if the PK doesn't
exist or UPDATE if the PK does exist, all in a single transaction. Does
anyone have an SQL statement I can throw at it that would accomplish
this?
If I can't figure out how to do it, I'm going to have to send two
discreet SQL commands for each record which will take infinitely longer
than a...

I finally got my call to a stored procedure on our db2 to work. However i might have to change what the stored procedure does, if I cannot get it to work how we want. Which i would like to make it work on the sql server side, and not have to change the db2 side as that takes some time from our developers.
But this is what i want to do. I have a stored procedure that calls the db2 stored procedure to return 4 leave amounts(@Annual, @Sick,...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...
