A2K: type mismatch error where there was none before

I'm really worried my db is falling apart!

I'm now getting;

"Run-time error: 13

Type mismatch"
When I run faq_DisableShif tKeyBypass in the immediate window. This is a
reference to the standard code to disable the ability to hit shift to get
into a database on start up.

It falls over at;

Set prop = db.CreateProper ty("AllowByPass Key", _
dbBoolean, False)
I dug up quite an old version and it seems to be ok. Assuming there is
some sort of corruption going on how can I deal with it? I have decompiled
and compacted the database but that hasn't helped.

thanks
Martin

For ther record I got this fixed - notice an old post on the group re the
DAO reference. I then saw that this reference was not in the position I
expected it to be. I moved it up a few places and all, so far, seems well.

Did you set the DAO object model in Tools References?
Are "prop" and "db" declared correctly?

Hi all Yesterday I found a strange corruption-issue that I can't solve yet or actually point my finger at. I converted an A97 app to A2k. I have done this often enough so I didn't expect trouble here. Conversion seems OK and I start the app. BUT . . . Mainform doesn't work. Form comes up but none of the buttons react. Why not? I go to design view and see that code is not compiled. (compile-option is active) So I compile and go to normal...

I have been developing access databases for over 5 years. I have a large database and I have struck this problem with it before but can find nothing in help or online. Access 2000 I have a query that will run fine without any criteria but as soon as I add any criteria it gives a "Data type mismatch" error. As soon as I remove any criteria it runs perfectly. I know this query is based on another query but I have other processes based on...

I am getting "Type Mismatch Error" when the following code executes. I am trying to notify the user if she attempts to add a customer with the same FirstName, LastName, Address(line1) and City as one that already exists on the file. If there is a match, ask the user and cancel the record add if she sees that it's a dup customer. I had trouble with the line continuations, quotes and continuation chracters, and noticed that Access...

I would think that since the code

This one has me stumped. I'm getting a "Type Mismatch" error on one of my forms when it's being opened. It's hapening before the forms "On Open" event, I stuck a msgbox in there to check and I'm getting the error before it opens. The line of code that calls the form from another form is. DoCmd.OpenForm "NonConformanceAdd",,,,acFormAdd,acDialog I get the error, click ok, then the form opens and works exactly how it's supposed to. I even...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
