Migration from Access 97 db to Access 2002 on Citrix makes it slow

We have an mdb running on Access 2000 that was originally built in Access
97. Now, after having migrated the mdb to Access 2002 on Citrix (both the
mdb and Access reside on the Citrixserver), the mdb is unacceptably slow in
starting up and moving from form to form. Is this a common problem? Any
ideas to solve it?
Thanks,
Peter

Peter, someone else may have more specific information about Citrix, but
there are several issues you need to address when moving from Access 97 to
later versions.

Tony Toews has a good list of things to work through here:
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/performancefaq.htm

There is also a more generic list of issues (not performance related) re
converting from A97 here:
http://allenbrowne.com/ser-48.html

And broad guidelines for running Access on a WAN (if that's what you are
doing):

In a small business environment where budget does not allow more licence for Access, is there any way to have more users to use the current Access application (built on Access 2002 and VBA with DAO codes)? I have tried put some data on the intranet using DAP, but it's not as feature-rich as teh original application. I also heard of Citrix...

I have an Access 2003 .mde sitting on an SQL Server. The tables for the application also sit on the Server. I'm having a problem with ODBC on only one of about 10 machines. I've just spent some time looking through FAQ sites and searching the google archives of this newsgroup, but I still haven't been able to find a clear explanation of an issue with multi-user databases. An application I wrote has been deployed on Citrix, and the Citrix admin tells me all users run the same .mde file. There aren't a lot of concurrent users, but even 2 could be cause for concern. I think the use of globals is worrisome in this case. Anybody have any experience with Access on Citrix? (Al Kallal already griped me out about...

I have a VB.NET form with a DataGrid. When I toggle to Excel (for example) and then back to my application the repaint of the DataGrid is really slow. You can see the repainting happening. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. For...
