Not able to access informatoin using Search Command I created

Using MS ACCESS 2002

Problem - I developed a form, and within that FORM, I added a SEARCH BUTTON, and then I created a SUB-FORM, so when an end user clicks on the FORM it will POP-UP the SUB-FORM, and in that SUB-FORM I added all the FIELDS I want to view.

However, when I try to type in data into the FIELDS I am searching for, it does not let me. I would just like to type in an ID or the name of the Document and have Access PULL that information into the FIELDS, BUT it's not letting me type anything. The way I am retreiving the information is when I scroll through all the records in the database, or if I click on the SEARCH field option in the standard ACCESS toolbar.

I want to use the FORM SEARCH option that I created and type any information so that ACCESS can pull that information...H ow can I do that?

I appreciate your help!

Greetings- I am running Python 2.3.3 on HP-UX and would like to access an Oracle 9i database. Looking through the vaults, I see 4 or 5 modules that might work and was wondering if anyone is currently hitting Oracle and what are you using. I get to build a new system from the ground up and the powers that be are allowing me to do it in Python. I'm quite happy. Thanks for your help,

It is just me or has MS created some of the worst ways to access and display data? You can use a DataSet, but if you want to sort or filter the data to must use a DataView which is created from a DataSet. But, if you sort by using the Grid (clicking the header) you can no longer use the DataSet (or maybe the DataView, if that is what you are using) to locate the record that the user has selected!!

Hi, I am mildly familiar with ms access developement and I have been asked to port and document a ms access app. I expect the porting (97 to XP) to be fairly straightforward. However documenting it is another matter. How do you people document your access apps? Just create an ERD and have comments in the vba code? List all the forms and it's purpose ? Are there any methodologies / best practices / examples I can look at? thanks in...

I have a form in (Access 2002 File Format) that has 61 combined Text boxes, Combo boxes, and List boxes... 11 of those fields are in the Form Header, the rest are in the Detail area... I also have 43 Command Buttons in the detail area, each with a "strtextval" code to a certain text box... 10 of those Command Buttons are in the Form Footer area, with a macro assigned to them to go from page to page.... I duplicated this form, so that I...

I'm using a third party hosting service. I presently have a Web Service on this hosting service's server that loads and executes a native mode DLL. This demonstrates that the hosting service has given me proper access to the temporary directory c:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/V1.1.4322/Temporary ASP.NET Files/root/...." I believe it also demonstrates that I have access to c:/documents and settings/xyz/aspnet/local settings/ ...

I have created a DataSet DataTable which is comprised of data from a number of sources. The resultant datatable is about 500,000 records and writing them out one at a time takes forever. Does anyone have some example code or tell me how to dump a datatable to Access. One problem is that the datatable structure changes and I would like to create a generic method, which scans the datatable column types and builds the Access table on the...

Hello everyone, I have created a search button but I receive the message "Microsoft Access can't fine the field "|" referred to in your expression" when I try to use it. I have looked online for this error but the fix did not pertain to this problem because the table or field name did not match any reservered Access words as described. My records search form will have two combo boxes and one or two search buttons. I am just trying to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
