Subreport control won't display correctly on main report

On the subreport, records are grouped by WorkDate. In the WorkDate header
there is a textbox named DateCounter with the control source =1 and running
sum set to yes. In either the report footer or the WorkDate footer (I tried
both with no difference) is a textbox called DateCount, the control source
of which is =DateCounter. If this subreport is run as a seperate report,
DateCounter shows 1...2...3...etc for each seperate WorkDate and DateCount
in the footer will show the same number as the last WorkDate grouping. On my
main form I have a textbox, Days, with a control source of
=[rptSummaryLabor Subreport]![DateCount]. In theory, this should display a
number that corresponds to the number of WorkDate groups in the data subset.
Also the same as the field DateCount on the subreport. It does not, however,
but rather displays 1 everytime. What am I missing?

Possibly, you are referencing the Control improperly.

From the main Report, where sbrSubRep is the name of the Subreport Control,
try

sbrSubRep.Repor t!DateCount

No, the reference is correct, as above, and I do not get an error (#Error or
#Name) it simply displays 1 on every record.

I am trying to use an existing report as a subreport in another report. I have the subreport added to the main report, but the only thing that shows up where the subreport should be is the name of the subreport. In reading the Access help files, it sounds like there should be LinkChildFields and LinkMasterFields proprties in the propert sheet for the subreport. However, neither of these properties are there for the subreport.. I used...

Hello, I currently have an Access 2003 ADP Report/Subreport set up in which I have 12 subreports in a single main report that are located in a group header called 'PermnumHeader' (Permnum would be the same as a numeric 'StudentID'). All subreports initially have their visible property set to 'No'. I have a macro that evaulates the current value of a field in the detail section of the main report called 'Grade' and a field in the same...

How do you display a total from a subreport on the main report. If it makes a difference, the total is a total of a calculated field (Qty * Price). Does the total on the subreport go in the pagefooter or report footer? Say the total is shown in a texrbox named MyTotal and the subreport control is named MySubreportControl, what exactly do I put in the control source of a textbox on the main report to show the total? I tried to fix a problem for a client today in which report sections and even individual text controls in some of their reports are being split across page boundaries. Of course, I was thinking the answer was just going to be setting some Keep Together properties to Yes. Alas, it was not to be. It turns out that the report in question is actually a combination of 2 other reports based on different tables. The reports should follow one...

Hello, I have a report which uses a subreport. When I run the report, I get "Enter Parameter Value" error message for "tblGuestRoom". I click ok and the report seems to work fine. I narrowed down this error to the Link Master Fields property setting, when I tried the same scenario with form/subform. It gave me error: 'The Link Master fields property setting has produced this error: The object doesn't contain the Automation object...

I'm having some difficulty and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I have a main report, rptMain, that contains a report header (displays the AppTitle), 3 group headers (one is a header for the "report version" and is being used for a cover sheet, one is a category header, and the other is an item header), about 6 subreports in the Details section, 2 non-empty group footers, a page footer and a report footer. The 6 subreports in...

I have a report that I run every quarter. When I opened it this quarter, one of the subreports is not displaying. No error message - just nothing displays where the subreport data should be. If you run the subreport on its own, it displays fine. It just won't display on the main report. I tried deleting and readding the subreport. No luck. There are other subreports on the main one and they are acting fine. Any ideas? (Using Access 2000)....

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
