FedEx Barcodes

Hi all,

This is probably not the group for this but I'm not sure quite where
else to go. Does anyone know where to find the barcode standards for
FedEx shipments of all types of shipping they perform. I'm looking to
integrate this logic into a database and extract the tracking number
and priority codes from the barcodes with a scanner. I've got the
scanner working great but still need to find out what barcodes are used
for what services and where the specific information is encoded in each
type of barcode.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Many thanks, Dean...

Dean:

There is no information encoded in any barcodes. In point of fact, the
barcode is just an numerical index that points to a specific record
within a database, just as if you had typed it down with your keyboard.
The rest of the label that contains the barcode has nothing you can
extract from the barcode scanner.

Your best bet is to call FedEx directly to see whether they have some
sort of database that you can tie into, that is, one that contains a
table in which the barcode number is the primary key.

hi folks: Does anyone know how to calculate the shipping rate on Fedex? There was a web module to handle the web query for rate at http://grd.fedex.com/cgi-bin/rrr2010.exe?func=Rate Currently it is not available, I wonder if there still has a similar module like that. I did some search on the Fedex sites and find out they have several API and I do not know which one I should choose. Could anyone give me some up to date idea on that?...

This is a total shot in the dark, but does anyone have any experience in setting up an ASP.NET project that only gets the shipping Rates from FedEx's live server? All I really want to accomplish (if I can) is to allow the user to type in their zip code and the weight in LBS of the item they chose. Can anyone help me out? Thanks, TG

Does anyone know what kind of codes Fedex uses for its barcodes and how it is translated into the tracking number. I have a database to I use to log incoming packages. I am able to scan any other barcodes and see the tracking number that is on the package, but when I scan the fedex barcode I get a very long number that does not resemble the actual tracking number. I know that there are double density barcodes that has to be broken down to...

I am working on this FedEx web service integration project for some time. I am using PHP to make calls to the FedEx server. Everything seems to be working properly. But I am having problems with CustomerReferences fields appearing in the original fedex request that is sent to the server. I am using the ShipService_v7.wsdl. I asked FedEx tech support saying that would not be able to help with PHP code. But my problem is even the sample code...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
