Hi,
I still have problem to import the text file delimited by tabs or commas
into the database.
I refer to http://www.connectionstrings.com/ for the connection, ODBC
doesn't work and OLD DB works only for csv files. Any idea? Does anybody has
workable samples? Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I am still stick on the text file being imported to database. Can anybody help?
I have just done the csv format files. And then I work on text and DAT formats, but I have problem to import these kinds of formats to MySQL ( and MS SQL)
Please see the attachments, and the text format is changed from DAT format, delimited by tabs or commas. I can't select and insert them into the database.

All,
I have an import spec set up with quoted Identifiers and comma-separated
values. The text file is produced by a 3rd-party program of which I have no
control. It outputs all text fields surrounded by quotes, and all numeric
fields w/o quotes. All fields are separated with commas.

How can I make access import a tab delimited text file that contains a
special char u (but with the dots over it like a german spelling). The u
shows with the two dots in the text file but when it comes into access, it
looks like something else!!.

I have a MS access database table for which I regularly need to import
fixed width text data. At present I have to to cut and paste the text
data from its source to a text file, save the file, import the text
file as fixed width text , and then run
an update query to copy the appropriate info into fields of a different
table.
Is it possible to write a macro to do all these steps? Also, is it

I'm using PHPMyAdmin on an Apache2Triad install (latest version; 5.x.x,
which installs PHP5 and PHPMyAdmin 2.8 as well). In Access, I exported a
table to a text file, tab-delimited, text qualifyer of "none" (this is how I
read to do it from newsgroups).
When I use the Query window in phpmyadmin to import the text file, it waits
a while, then returns an error:

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
