How can I add some ActiveX Data Control to VBA project

4 New Member
I am trying to creating an ADO recordset and display all the records into a Datagrid control. I can't find the Datagrid under the VBA Editor.

How can I add the missing data controls to the reference list.

Thanks,
jd

It's usually just a matter of bringing up the References or Components list and ticking the ones you want to use. In VBA, I believe this would be under Tools|Reference s. If you're looking under "D" for "Datagrid", try scrolling down to "Microsoft Datagrid" or similar.

I checked the Reference under the Tool menu, but there are lots of common controls missing. Is there anywhere I can add them in?

InVB Editor Tools->References are the listing of libraries, not ActiveX Controls! Open the appropriate form in Design View, and then go up to
Insert->ActiveX Control and scroll thru the controls. One caveat: some controls are simply listed by their names, while others, like the Datagrid control, is prefixed by the Maker's name. Thus Datagrid won't be in the D's, but rather in the M's. Microsoft Datagrid Control.

Nice answer again MissingLinq.
I look forward with anticipation to your imminent 'promotion' (Member is after 30 posts).
I'd like to comment that, as far as I've seen, your posts have all been of a high calibre.
An emphatic welcome from me :)

Hi all, I have this project to use the ADODB control to acces and manipulate the Access DB. I amd the mistake of first doing this project with just the data control. It worked fine with this control. I adjusted a few things and can get the ADODB controlto move through the records of the DB, but my menu controls do not work. I used them to look up certain records through various criteria. When I click on the lookup, it brings up the...

Hi I'm using an activex browser control (AxWebBrowser) in my windows forms application. One of my MainMenu items in my application is using the shortcut key Control+N. The problem is that occasionally that control-n doesn't call the menu items click handler, but creates a new internet explorer window instead. How can I stop this from happening? Thanks in advance,

Good Day All, I am having a problem in Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2. I am hoping someone might have an idea as to what is going on. I have an ActiveX User Control written using Visual Basic 6.0. Using Visual Studio 2005 I add the control to my Toolbox. I then drag the control onto a Panel control that is on a form. That is it. I don't write any code at all. When I run the program I get the following error:

With this little DLL you can embed either Mozilla ActiveX Browser Control or MSIE by just calling it's EmbedBrowser(HWND hwnd, int i) function. 0 = Mozilla Activex Browser Control and 1 = MSIE. Other available methods include: >> UnEmbedBrowser() >> ResizeBrowser(HWND hwnd) Where hwnd is an handle to a control where the browser control is

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
