We're using SQL Server 7 with an Access 2000 MDB as a front end with ODBC
linked tables. I recently created a new set of tables for the app, and users
are complaining that unsaved data is being lost when they move to a new
record. This seems to be the case when there are multiple users. When there
is a single user using it, we don't seem to have that problem.
It seems that we had this problem when we first converted from an MDB back
end...

Hi All,
I have a form that needs to be placed on the web. The form contains a subform.
The relationship from the form to the sub-form is 1 to many. Can this type of
form be converted to a Data Access Page? Data on both forms must be updatable.
If this can be done, can anyone recommend a book on Data Access Page. The
Running Microsoft Access Book I have only devotes a few pages to Data Access
Pages. Thanks!

Hello,
I have a combo box (Combo7) that needs to call a function during the
After Update event of the combo box. The function resides in an Access
2000 ADP Module called MMAnswerData_code.
The following is the code of the function:
Public Function SubFormRS(FrmTarget As Object)
Forms!frmAD_OpeningForm!FrmTarget.RecordSource = "EXEC
dbo.AdSubFormRecSource " & Forms!frmAD_OpeningForm!SubFormFilter

I'm running Access 97 and have a sub-form within a main form. The subform
allows data entry by the user. Now, I would also like to enter a row from a
macro, but when I try, the entry always goes into the first row even if
there has been a user entry there. Any suggestions on how I can do this?
Thanks.

Hi Everyone,
I'm generally unfamiliar with Access form design, but have programmed
Cold Fusion applications for a couple of years.
I'd like to build a data entry form in Access that allows the
following.
First, the data schema: Three tables are involved. The first is a
PERSONS table which has two fields, SSNUMBER (primary key), and NAME.

I have a problem I just can't figure out. I have a form with a
subform, and the recordsource of the subform has criteria based on
some unbound fields in the parent form so that data in the parent form
affects data in the subform. I've had this type of setup often, but
I've run across a couple forms where this has caused an "enter
parameter value" pop up for each reference to the parent control in
the query when the main form is closed. ...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
