Password problem when running an English Access application on Spanish Access

I created an application in the English version of Access 2000, and my
customer is trying to run it in Mexico using a Spanish version of
Access. When the application comes up, it asks for a password, even
though the application is not password-protected. Has anyone
experienced this problem? I was thinking of telling the customer to
try installing the English version of Access, but I wanted to have a
reasonable basis for thinking it would work first.

I am creating a dialog in wxPython for log in purposes. Basically when the user clicks the ok button, the dialog box saves the user name and password as class attributes. Then as long as the dialog exists calling MyDialog.GetUserName() and MyDialog.GetPassword() returns them. This seems insecure to me. Is there a better way to go about this or is it safe as long as I destroy the dialog as soon as I am done with it?

I would like dictionary databases to translate for English to French AND English to Spanish. I am looking to put in on my PalmOS V5. If they are in PC format, I can convert them for my Palm. There used to be free dictionaries like this. Any idea where to find these freebies? Thank you.

I am building an Access 2002 frontend with linked tables to an encrypted Paradox 7 database. When I first create these linked tables, I'm asked for the password to the encrypted Paradox database, and the linked tables are successfully created. I use the data from these linked tables in several forms. All works great until I close the Access frontend and open it again. When I try to use the forms, I get an error message: "Could not...

The following C# web service works fine until you uncomment the lines setting UserName and Password. Then, Process.Start throws an Access is Denied Exception. This is with .NET 2.0, of course (1.1 does not support running a process as a different user). I'm running everything on Windows Server 2003. I have impersonation enabled in my web.config, and I'm using Integrated authentication on the IIS virtual directory that this aspx is in....

I have some accounting and tax receipting type applications, developed for charitable and non profit groups, that are exhibiting strange behaviour on a few of the 30 or 40 user machines. When some users (about 3 or 4 it seems) close the frontend db the Access database password prompt appears. Users can just Cancel the pw prompt (or enter the correct password) and the db will then close. On the MS Office forum I found a post that...

The never-ending debate about PEP 3131 got me thinking about natural languages with respect to Python, and I have a bunch of mostly simple observations (some factual, some anecdotal). I present these mostly as food for thought, but I do make my own continent-by-continent recommendations at the bottom of the email. (My own linguistic biases are also disclosed at the bottom of the email.) Nationality of various technologists who use...

Running as an administrator, I can retrieve the account password stored by IIS for any application pool (using the WAMUserPass property). But, unsurprisingly, an ASP.NET application running inside an application pool that is does not have administrator privileges can't even enumerate the list of application pools. I can access the application pool by hard-coding the name, but even then the WAMUserPass is an empty property value...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
