Hi there
I have avoided to use active x controls because I thought they are causing
more problems then they are doing any good.
I a new application I would want to use the tree and list view control in
access 2002. Prior to that I like to fine some information or here some feed
back from developers who have use active x controls success fully in there
application, what their experience was.

I developed an access database in access 2003(keeping my database in
the access 2000 format). It has been fully tested to be access 2000
compatible and works great.
I am trying to package the final version however and when I tell it to
create a shortcut it includeds the path to access 2003 in the shortcut
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\
my client is running access 2000. I could not figure any way to change
the access...

Hi There
I am inheriting from DateTimePicker class to create a DateTimePicker
control with a configurable back colour. I got the original code from
http://dotnet.mvps.org/ then converted it to C# and it works OK in .NET
2.0 except for two warnings from CodeAnalysis:
CA2123 : Microsoft.Security : The virtual method
DateTimePicker.WndProc(Message&):Void defined by type
'System.Windows.Forms.DateTimePicker' and its override

I have an Access application developed using Access 2003 that I am
trying to distribute. I have used the Package and Deployment Wizard
that comes with the Office 2003 Developers Kit, and have been able to
successfully distribute the application, with the Access runtime
included, to several test PCs. Yes, more testing is necessary, but
one problem is already presenting itself. It is, of course, the hated
security dialogs regarding...

I must say that after googling on this subject to try to get some clarity
I'm even more confused then ever. Can someone explain to me in plain simple
English, what I need to be able to produce a royalty-free runtime MS A2003
application? Some articles suggest that you need Visual Studio to get the
developer extensions, others suggest that you don't. Also, if the A2007
developer extensions are free, why aren't the A2003 versions?

All,
I have approximately 15 databases that I am about to migrate to Access 2003
from 2000. I do not want the security message to appear every time one of my
users logs on to the database. Registry changes and digital signatures are
out of the question. If I put Application.AutomationSecurity =
msoAutomationSecurityLow on open of my start up form will this prevent the
warning message? Is there something I can put in the windows shortcut...

On one computer I am getting the message "This file may not be safe if
it contains code that was intended to harm your computer. Open It?" and
on my computer I didn't get that message when I opened the same app.
This was due to me setting security level low on my computer but not
setting it on the other computer.
On the computer getting the error message I was also getting "Unsafe
Expressions Not Blocked" error messages. I think, but...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
