Open Word Files From Within Access

1 New Member
Hello,

I have a form (Access 2003) which brings up a clients details on screen (name, phone number, etc etc), so that an end-user can modify any of these clients details, and save the updates. Also however on this form is a button, that says "notes", which, in theory, when you click on it, opens up a word (word 2003) file with notes, pictures, text etc etc, all about that particular client

What I need help with is.......say the end-user has freddy jones' record up, open, on screen, and clicks on "notes". I need access to then open the "fredy jones.doc" file.......or it may be mary jones' record that is open, so thus access has to open "mary jones.doc". The (primary key) field in the form that contains the clients name is entitled "clientname ".I dont know to get access to look at the data / value in the "clientnme" field, and then say.....okay, yep, i want to open the corresponding word file, whose *.doc name is the same as the data/value in the "clientname " field

Thanking you in advance,
Jeff

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
