Hi All
I have a few questions and I am hoping some of you gurus maybe able to help.
As I understand, there are 3 basic types (and some subtypes) of joins: inner
join, outer join and cross join. What is the difference between the cross
join and fuller outer join and why would you ever use self join?
Apart from prepared and direct execution, is there any other types?
And finally, what do these settings mean:
rdExecDirect
SQLExecDirect...

No doubt I've overlooked something obvious, but here goes:
Let's say I assign a value to a var, e.g.:
myPlace = 'right here'
myTime = 'right now'
Now let's say I want to print out the two vars, along with their names.
I could easily do this:
print "myPlace = %s, myTime = %s" % (myPlace, myTime)

Hi All Database Gurus,
I am trying to write code which will produce all the possible valid
queries, given tables and join information for tables.
Right now i am just trying to construct all the sequential joins.
eg. if i have 4 tables A, B, C, D and the join conditions are
A Inner join B,
B Inner Join C,
C Left Outer join D
then i am constructing joins as :

If a database has relationships establshed between all of the tables
via primary and foreign key constraints, why isn't is possible to make
a SELECT statement across multiple tables without using a JOIN?
If the system knows the relationsip schema already why are JOINS
required?
Thanks,
HC

I have a SQL query I'm invoking via VB6 & ADO 2.8, that requires three
"Left Outer Joins" in order to return every transaction for a specific
set of criteria.
Using three "Left Outer Joins" slows the system down considerably.
I've tried creating a temp db, but I can't figure out how to execute
two select commands. (It throws the exception "The column prefix
'tempdb' does not match with a table name or alias name used in the
query.")

Hi,
I'm new to SQL trying to use a base that was set up by another firm.
I can't get it to do what I want and I don't know if it's due to my
ignorance or bad table design ...
I have three tables

Hello,
I am used to SQL but I am starting to use LINQ.
How can I create Left, Right and Inner joins in LINQ? How to
distinguish the different joins?
Here is a great SQL example:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
