Cannot refresh link to SQL Server Database

Hello,

I have a ms access '97 database with linked tables to a SQL Server
Database.
The ms access '97 was converted to ms accesss 2000 for development and
now it is converted back to ms access '97.

In ms access 2000 all linked tables work just fine and I can also
relink the tables without any problems. But in the '97 version, 2
tables just won't relink, I get a message saying something like 'The
database engine can't find <<tablename>> . Make sure that it is a valid
parameter or aliasname without invalid marks and that the name isn't
too long'.

(I use a Dutch Access version, so the message is also in Dutch. I
translated it in english for this newsgroup, so the real english
message can be different)

There aren't invalid marks in the name and the name isn't too long, I
can make a new table in Access with the same name as the linked table.

Does anyone know what can cause this problem and how I can solve it?

Greetings,
Chris

Hi there, My boss is hoping that I can come up with a page that displays some information. The information will always be displayed on specific part of the page, with auto refresh. But he doesn't want the whole page to be refreshed so that buttons and images around the information do not get reloaded each time. Is this really possible? Other pages on this site don't use frames, so this page can't use frams too. Creating an ActiveX...

Hello All, I have been working on this for almost a week now and I haven't anything up my sleeves anymore that I could test in addition or change.... Since I am not sure, if this is a Windows 2003 Server or ADO or ODBC issue, I am posting this on all of the three newsgroups. That's the setup: Windows 2003 Server with IIS and ASP.NET actiavted Access 2002 mdb file (and yes, proper rights are set on TMP paths and path,

Hi, I have a private website for 20 people that is similar to a web email client like hotmail. There are two frames, one on the left with links for "New", "History", "Todays" and a frame on the right with a table for viewing the contents of these messages. The left pane checks back with the server every few seconds to see if any new messages need to be processed and updates count accordingly.

The problem is that when the user presses refresh that same URL is fired with the parameters to delete again - this sometimes gives strange behaviour. Is there any way that I can stip of parameters when reloading a page such that only the webpage is deleted e.g. ...

When attempting to refresh a link through ODBC to a table (T_Leases) in my SQL backend, I get an error message teling me the Jet Engine can't find an object (A differnet table T_LockTypes in the same SQL). I checked and am able to open, design and query the second table in SQL. There are no relationships between these two tables. I am unable to query the table. I tried to refresh the second table and am told the object does not exist....

When you link an ObjectDataSource to a business object, it appears that the Refresh Schema button does nothing. Here's the scenario: I have two class libraries, one is a Data Access Layer and the other is a List class. The former implements all of the CRUD logic, and the latter implements a number of interfaces for the purpose of aggregate functionality. For example, the following is the method I select when I configure the object...

Using Access 2003 front-end, with SQL Server 2005 backend. I need to make the front-end application automatically refresh the linked SQL Server tables. New tables will be added dynamically in the future, so the front-end application must have a way to keep up with this (instead of manually linking them).

I have an XP database where my users are locked out of the database window. One of my processes creates/drops tables on the fly. My problem is trying to assign one of the new tables to a report. When the report is called, it says that the table doesn't exist. How can I refresh the tables using VB? I've tried using Application.RefreshDatabaseWindow with no luck. Thanks

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
