I'm trying to use a query whose SQL view is shown below to get a
recordset of all first quarter records from a table for a year that is
in the textbox of a form, so I can sum up the totals for the first
quarter for every person and display them on the form. The query works
fine when I preview it in the query builder, but when I try to open a
recordset in vb code with the query I get "too few parameters expected
one". It seems for some...

I have been having endless difficulty creating reports/queries that
set any relevent parameters from controls in forms.
I am creating an application under access 2003 but will target access
2000. The access file is in access 2000 format.
I have a form that will hold the relevent parameters for the
query/report that reports the statistics for all job records that
match a certain criteria. These are:
- A Customer Name.

Hi Guys,
I need some help creating a query that is going to take between 1 and
10 parameters. The parameters are entered on a form into text boxes
that may have data or be empty. Is there a way to create a single
query that will take parameters if they are present in the text boxes
and not take parameters if the text box is empty?
The ten fields will need to be searched using "Like" so that the user
can search on part of a text...

I have a form where the users need to view records for various
criteria, one of which is a date field on which they may wish to view
all related data for the selected date, for all dates upto and icluding
the selected date or all records on or after the selected date
The user selects either "=", >=" or "<=" from a combo box and then a
date from another combobox. The combination of thse two choices is
then set in an unbound textbox so...

Hi, I have created a query that uses a value selected from a list box in a form. The problem is that I need the query to accept multiple parameters as well as individual ones. I tried to make the default value for the list box "value1" Or "value2" Or "value3" so users could leave it blank to return all 3 but this didn't work.
I know from looking at the Microsoft support website (KB210530) that you can create two types of Parameter In()...

Use the "where" clause, and make the reports sql *without* any
parameters..and you not need to change the params..
So, you can build a un-bound form (a un-bound form is a form that is NOT
attached to a table - these forms are typically designed for user interface
face stuff like prompts, print buttons etc).
The following screen shots are all un-bound forms, and they simply prompt
the user for information.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
