I'm using MS Office 2000. I have a small database using Access which consists of
only two columns. I'd like to add a third column to the right. It would be the
third column. All I can seem to insert is a column to the extreme left (first
colum) or one in the middle. The help files tell me that the column will be
inserted to the left of the cursor placement. I can't put the curson anywhere to
insert a column to the right. Any way to do this? Thanks. 5 2126
Open your table in design view and add your column there.
Hope that helps! rf****@optonlin e.net wrote:

Thanks I'll try it. I don't have a lot of experience with Access. Just enough to
do some basic databases for my CD's, DVD's, etc.

....Be aware that a relational database doesn't care at all about column
order. The order that columns are created or sequenced in design view
and the order that they are displayed in datasheet view in Access are
completely independent of one another.
In Access datasheet view, to switch the displayed order of columns,
just click on the column header and drag the column to the desired
display position.

Worked like a charm. Thanks.

I just added the column in Design View as previously suggested. But thanks for
your reply. In fact, I actually tried just what you mentioned, click and drag,
before I posted the original question. I figured, it's Windows, so click and
drag. Didn't work for me for some reason. Any special trick in doing it for
future reference? Thanks again.

Hi - I would be grateful for guidance on the following.
The following concerns the DDL for Creating an Auxilliary Table that is
associated with the CLOB column of a 'base' Table.
(I have just recently gained exposure to DB2 UDB for Windows, my
experience lies with DB2 for OS/390.)
Within OS/390, the DDL for defining the AUXilliary Table is listed
below. However, the syntax is not accepted by UDB for Windows.
I have obviously tried...

Hello All,
Is it better to create a query in DAO where a report has 4 sub-reports
each of whose record source is a query created at runtime and
everything is in 1 MDB file?
From what I've read and experienced it appears DAO is the way to go in
this situation, so when is it good to use ADOX to create queries?
Why do I ask the question? I've created a MDB file which uses DAO, but

I am stuck on trying to generate two columns headers for a datagrid on

I want, but I want to set different column widths and don't see a way
to do this through the datagrid properties. I am not using a database

Hello,
I am creating an a to z list - basically a count of all results that
start with the letter "A", "B", "C" .... and so on.
I am pretty poor at SQL so I am sure some brains out there can do
better than I have here. What I have is working, I just want to make
sure that it is optomized.

Hi,
How Do I create an instance of a derived class from an instance of a
base class, essentially wrapping up an existing base class with some
additional functionality. The reason I need this is because I am not
always able to control/create all the different constructors the base
class has. My problem can be described in code as follows ...
/* This is the base class with a whole heap of
constructors/functionality*/
public class Animal

I have a problem which I think can be solved by creating new Settings
on the fly, but I'mnot sure if it's possible, or if a better solution
may exists.
Here's the situation: I have a project with many different
dataGridViews to display data, and many of them have 10-20 columns
(the actual number of displayed columns is user/client controlled, and
in a couple cases could be ~30). The client would like to be able to
resize the columns...

I'm dynamically creating a Gridview object and filling it with
contents from an ArrayList as follows:
GridView2.AutoGenerateColumns = true;
GridView2.DataSource = ArrayListObject;
GridView2.DataBind();
This works nicely, but i need to add a button field row onto it, as
well as possibly a textbox and image field later.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
