Hi All,
I have a front end / back end MS Access DB at my workplace. When linking the
front-to-back ends in the Linked Table Manager, I specify the network
location of the backend as \\servername\sh arename\backend name.mdb, which
works fine.
However, I want to do some development at home but I don't want to have to
keep re-linking the tables (this is time consuming as there's actually more
than one backend .mdb file). Is there a way I can emulate the network path
on my local (XP) PC? IE map a local folder to the
\\servername\sh arename\backend name.mdb path.

I don't know about mapping a local folder to a UNC name -- that'd
be a "platform" or "O/S" question, I guess.
Can't be done unless you name a machine on your home network with
the same name as the server and create shares accordingly.

Hello,
I am trying to find a way to create a scheduled task or

Im grabbing tables via VB code using visual foxpro ODBC drives.
The tables directory is in a mapped network drive. The code works fine
and does the job, however if the computer is idle for a while the
network drive apears to have a red X on the icon and the drive becomes
disconnected. this seems to effect the VB code from grabbing the

The service needs to create/delete folders/files on a network drive. When I
tried to connect to a folder on mapped network drive (eg. N:\Storage that
corresponds to \\FS1NS\SharedDir\), I get an error as "Could not find part
