Hi
I am trying to calculate a running total of a calculated textbox
(tbAtStandard) in GroupFooter1 for placement in a textbox
(tbTotalAtStandard) on my report in Groupfooter0.
The problem that I am having is that sometimes the correct total shows
up in print preview and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it is higher
and sometimes it is lower (than the correct amount) and I cannot make
any sense of the difference. The difference...

I have 8 reports that I want to run. Each report is only about 6-7 lines
long. I'd like to get them all on a single page.
So I created a parent report and made each of the 8 desired reports a
sub-report. That part all works fine.
My problem is that each of the 8 sub-reports is based on a different query.
Each of the 8 queries has 2 parameters. However, the 2 parameters are the
same for all 8 queries. When I run the parent report I am...

This one really has me going. Probably something silly. I'm using
dcount for a report to determine the number of different types of
tests proctored in a semester.
My report is based on a parameter query which is the recordsource for
the report. The parameter is <=. The query returns the
correct amounts upto the date entered (no need for "between" dates
here).
There are 8 textboxes with dcounts; 2 other boxes Sum some of these

When I open an Access form I can have no recordset specified, then in
the form's OnOpen event I can do something like:
Me.paramaters = "@SomeColumn = 22)"
Me.recordsource = "dbo.sproc123"
But I can't do this in a report as it will prompt me for the
parameters, even though they seem to be defined ahead of the
recordsource.
I have worked around this by opening reports to a bogus recordsource

Can you do a search for more that one string in another string?
Something like:
someString.IndexOf("something1","something2","something3",0)
or would you have to do something like:
if ((someString.IndexOf("something1",0) >= 0) ||
((someString.IndexOf("something2",0) >= 0) ||

I've been reading all the posts on this topic. Most are years old, so
I have 2 questions:
1. Is there any improvement on opening the same report multiple times
(with different input parameters on each) with Access 2000?
2. In the post listed below (from March 1998) M G Foster posed a
solution that makes sense to me and looks like something I could learn.
HOWEVER, the code snippet refers to getting the input parameters from
a list...

Hello Experts!
Does anyone know if there is a way to set the values of query parameters from VBA for a report's recordsource? (i.e., I want to set the values of the parameters and NOT have the user prompted for them).
Based on a Microsoft page (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287437), I tried the following approach:
Private Sub Report_Open(Cancel As Integer)
Dim sql As String

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
