Hello,
I'm exploring why one of my C# .NET apps has "high" memory usage, and
whether I can reduce the memory usage.
I have an app that wakes up and processes text files into a database
periodically. What happens, is that the app reads the contents of a
text file line by line into an ArrayList. Each element of the ArrayList
is a string representing a record from the file. The ArrayList is then

Hi to all,
I am displaying a list of records in a subform which is embedded in a
popup main form (in order to ensure that users close the form when
leaving it).
It seems to be impossible to delete a record in this subform.
When I switched modal off and tried to delete a record from the list,
I deleted a record on another form (below the popup form).

I have a command button on a form that is supposed to Delete the record
being displayed. The record is displayed one to a form. The form is
not a Pop-Up nor is it Modal. Tracing the btnDelete event routine shows
that AllowDeletions is TRUE.
When the Delete button is clicked (without TRACE ON), I get a 'beep',
the recordselector (vertical bar on left of form) gets dark in color,
but the record is not deleted. Also, there is no error...

Hi,
I hope I'm not OT.
I have the following issue:
I want to delete a record from my db with a php script. Let's say I'm auth'd
and I want to delete the record id 440. With a simple form (get or post), I
send the id to my script and delete the record (DELETE FROM table WHERE
id=some_validated_input).
The problem is if I'm a nasty guy I just write my own form and delete any

Hi, I have the following need: I list a table from an access database but
cannot interact with each record.
At the html page I display all records, one field (field1) from and 3
buttons for each record so to:
Button 1) Accept: Sets 1 on field 2 on that record
Button 2) Reject: Sets 0 on field 2 on that record
Button 3) Delete: Deletes that record

I have been reading (or at least googling) about the potential addition
of optional garbage collection to C++0x. There are numerous myths and
whatnot with very little detailed information.
Will this work be library based or language based and will it be based
on that of managed C++? Then of course there are the finer technical
questions raised (especially due to pointer abuse). Is a GC for C++
just a pipe dream or is there a lot of work...

Indeed I am using a vector<vector<nDimensionalPoint * as Hashtable.
My requirement is to lookup the value of a point of n dimensions very
fast for given coordinates.
I'm going to try an STL Map or Multiset. Maybe that works faster and
more memory efficient.
I have never heard before of a pool allocator but will Google for it.

Is garbage collection possible in C++. It doesn't come as part of
language support. Is there any specific reason for the same due to the
way the language is designed. Or it is discouraged due to
some specific reason. If someone can give inputs on the same, it will

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
