Using visual studio .NET 2003, VB:
I'm experiencing an issue with a TreeView object when it gets focus - the
first root node in the tree always gets selected when the control gets focus
- even if another node has been clicked on...
Here's my scenario:
In my application, I have a couple of trees fully expanded as it starts up.
The user then selects a node from somewhere in the tree structure.
Unfortuantely, every time I've tested, the...

I've got a TreeView on the left of my screen. As the user navigates the tree, I
load corresonding detail info into the rest of the screen.
Works ok, but when the user clicks on a detail field, the TreeView's selection
rectangle goes away and the user is left wondering what happened.
Seems like there ought TB a way to preserve that rectangle. The optimal would
be to have it go grey when the control loses focus and return to blue whe...

Please, help.
I created my contol, ButtonX, which subclasses System.Forms.Windows.Button
class. I am doing my own paiting, by overriding OnPaint and
OnPaintBackground (without calling base class's OnPaint &
OnPaintBackground). My button has a shape of rectangle with rounded corners
and is filled with gradient brush, where user specifies the gradient colors.
The dilema I have now is how to paint the button when it's disabled (Enabled

I am having the problem where when I change the font of a TreeNode in a
TreeView to a bold property, the bounds or rectangle that draws the node does
not expand so that the text ends up being cut off as shown in the attached
image. I have read all sorts of suggestions about making all the font bold
first, then changing it back to regular which seems to work, but is sort of a
crappy solution. My question: Is there any way to just override...

I am using a TreeView to perform navigation and have a few nodes that need
to generate a popup menu. For this, I use the SelectedNodeChanged event and
then add the relevant "window.open" script to the page using the
ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript method.
This seems to work fine, but if the user clicks on the same node twice, the
event doesn't fire a second time. I assume this is by design as the Node
Selection hasn't changed, but...

I have overridden the default DrawNode (OwnerDrawText mode) to allow me to
draw an extra icon at the front of the text block, while still using the
built-in icon list for another icon. The problem I am having is that when a
node is selected it snips the text to the length of the text minus the
length of the extra icon.
Is there a way to redefine the selection box size for each node?
The DrawNode code is as follows :

Hello all,
I need to place treeview control in Grid control. I need to place it in
a grid because I need to show calendar against every node. Is placing a
treeview in grid possible? If I need to create my own control that
would include capabilities of both treeview and Grid what would I have
to do? Being new to asp.net I guess I've to make a control that would
inherit from treeview and grid. But would changes I've to make in my...

Hi,
Is there a way for TreeView to have multiple selections? But I am not
talking about its checked boxes.
I want a way similar to ListView with MultiSelect = True. So I can use
or key and click to make multiple selections. Then when I
simply click one item, all previous selections are gone.
Thanks in advance.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
