In a query I have put the following criteria in a field:
[enter last name]
Now I would like the query to use this user input to search with wildcards.
So, if he enters john, in fact the query should search like:
*john*
Is that possible?

Like "*" & [enter last name] & "*"

The problem is that the list of items is growing, and I would like to
place ABC, DEF, GHI, etc., into a lookup table instead. But then how

Running the query brings up the dialog box to enter the parameter. If the
name I am looking for is Smith, I can type "smi*" to do a wildcard match.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
