We have 4 MS Access Databases with few tables on each DB. There are
some reports which uses ODBC. When I try to use the report and input
date range and click ok I get error "ODBC --call failed" it happens on
my computer only. I have just setup Windows XP SP2 with latest updates
and MS Office Prof. 2000 and in ODBC I have same dirvers installed as
other users who are able to access reports without any problem.
Can anybody tell me what setting I need to do on my computer.

ODBC Call Failed is a completely generic message that is often followed by
another message containing the specific error. For a report I would expect
the problem to be not having SELECT permissions on the database or table
being read.
What kind of ODBC connection is it? SQL Server? Oracle?

You cannot link from one Access file to another using ODBC. That has always
been the case so either it is not working on anyone else's computer or you
are not describing the situation accurately.

Let me tell you that we have MS Access DB for sales group and have
Timberline Accounting software both are linked I believe for some
reports but I don't know it has to do with particular report which I am
trying to access. I no basic about access not expert level. I have
installed Timberline Accounting software which works fine and Sales
software (MS Access) also. But I am not able to access this report and
I don't know about other reports as I never touched.

I have Dell Laptop XP SP2 and where I havne't installed Timberline
Accounting software and My MS Access Database is on File Server and I
have mapped that drive and when I use Reports I get the same error.
(ODBC Call--failed).

If a specific ODBC source is required in an Access file thgat you are
running from a server you still need that ODBC driver and DSN (if used) on
YOUR PC. That is not something that is inherited from the server.
If other users can open that report without getting an ODBC error it is
because they have installed or set up something to handle the ODBC
connection on their individual PCs. You will have to do the same on yours.
