could not update;currentl y locked > MDB is split and replicated.

I have users on different computers getting the error message "could
not update;currentl y locked" when trying to leave identical fields
after making a change on the same form but on different records.

MS Access 2002 MDB, front-end split from data. Data stored on network
server with front-end stored on local computer's desktop. Back-end data
is also replicated. All forms have "Record Locks" set to No Locks,
Recordset Type is Dynaset. Default database recordlocking is
record-level (but when I look at the properties of a table inside the
back-end I see 'replicated' checked but 'Record level locking' is
disabled and unchecked)

The form that is giving the error is based on a single table and has
fields on the form bound to the form's table. The error happens in
these fields.

The form also has many subforms (30) that are linked off to other
tables, most of these mini-subforms (one field on them) link to the
same table but different fields in that other table. These
mini-subforms are also used more than once on the form ('form2' is on
the main form twice, each with different name - but the same source
object). I don't know if these are an issue but I thought I'd mention
them anyway.

It sounds like page level locking is happening but I can't see how
except that the back-end database tables (that are replicated) have the
'record level locking' checkbox unchecked even though it is disabled.
What else could it be???

Really need some help,
Gord

One incorrect thing I mentioned about, the properties of the table in
the back-end doesn't say "Record Level Locking" it says "Record Level
Tracking".

I tried one more test...

I created a canned DB from the access wizard. Split off the database,
everything worked fine. Then I created a replica of the Back-end and TA
DA... broken... same "Could not update; currently locked" error.

What's up?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. For...
