Hi There
Have been on a massive learning curve today creating an Access database
without having even started the software before this morning! All
going well and have learned to create table, forms, queries and even
inter link.
The database records support for a cohort of schools, giving the
ability to give summaries of support by consultant, subject etc. So far
all is going well with data being inputted by way of a school support
"docket".
However......I have one query!
I have set up a seperate form for admin to select a number of schools
attending centrally based training using a multi-select list box. This
will need to generate records in the master table, so we can include
this in our summary reports.
I can get this to work if ONE school is selected, however when
multiple schools are selected it still only creates on record and
leaves the selection blank. Any help?
I would appreciate and idiots guide type answer, as I explained earlier
I have never used Access before today!

Lose the listbox. Just use a subform with a combobox. Much easier.
If you absolutely insist on using a listbox, check out www.mvps.org/access then look up listbox. It'll show you how to
add/filter records based on a listbox.
Would that allow me to create a new record in the master table for
every school selected?
Don't know how to set up sub-forms etc

Yes, and it's more flexible than mucking with listboxes. That's not to
say that you can't do it with a listbox, it's just harder to do that.
You might want to get a book like the SAMS book on Access for the
version you're using ore the Que one (usu. by Roger Jennings) and have
a read. Either that or tear apart the sample DB.

I am now exploring the DLAST command to see if I can just save time by
having the next record using that form pre-populated with data from the
last. This seems a compromise as I cant even get combis to allow
multi-selection (I know....but I am a noobie).
At the moment I cant get DLAST to do its job, I just get !ERROR in the
fields when moving to the next record. I will have to have a bit more
of a play.

Sorted!
As I only need it to remember the information during the current input
session and not in the future I used a button to create DUPLICATE
RECORD and then edit.
I was trying to make it too complicated (hehe).

I have query with value klient and product. On my form Im using
multiselect box as filter of klient value. Now I would like to use
second multiselect on this form for product value selection but only
for those value that are filtered by first multiselect. I dont know how
to connect selected value klient from first multiselect and value
product from query and make it source of multiselect 2.

hey... i have an unbound multiselect listbox on a form that i want to use to
populate text boxes on that form. so if a user selects the 3rd item in a
list of 20, how can i have that item show up in a text box? then, how can i
have a second selected item show up in a different text box, without
affecting the 1st one? (lboxOptions, txtboxOptions0, txtboxOptions1, etc..)
