Setting a Reference to Access DAO Type Libraries from Visual Basic

I have an access database which I wish to run on multiple PCs with a
number of differnet users. Part of the the code in this database
application uses the DAO 3.6 Object library. I know I can set a
reference to an application's type library using the "Tools" menu and
selecting the 'DAO 3.6 Object library' in References and that it only
has to be done once.

What I would like to know is: IS there a way I can spare the user doing
this manually by using VB code when I run the application that:

1) check to see if the object library is referenced, and
2) if not add the reference programmaticall y.

Thanks.

Take a look at the <References Wizard>, maybe you find it useful :

I have two questions; 1) When executing the sub routine "TestStructure", I'm trying to update the member "intTyres" in the structure "structureCar" dynamically using System.Reflection. The code executes, but the value does not change, nor is there an exception thrown. 2) Read comments in sub routine "TestIntegerProperty"

This is the help message I get ************************ Object library not registered The Visual Basic for Applications object library is no longer a standalone file; it is integrated into the dynamic-link library (DLL). In earlier versions, when you started an application that uses Visual Basic for Applications, certain object libraries were loaded. This

Can I set the Format property in a date/time field in code? Can I set the Input Mask in a date/time field in code? Can I set the Format of a Yes/No field to Checkbox in code? I am working on a remote update of tables and fields and can't find enough information on these things. Also, how do you index a field in code?

I am not sure if this is more of an expert question, but I am sure that they are out there. I'd like to setup a general application or bin directory on my Win2003.Net Server that will hold some useful utils that more pages on that server can use. As an example, I have created a Page Counter class that opens an Access .mdb file, counts the current entries for that page, and adds a new entry with some information regarding the current...

"Getting Back Your Visual Basic 6.0 Goodies" by Billy Hollis, 2003-5-14, states: "Getting a Forms Collection Visual Basic 6.0 developers are often fond of looping through the currently loaded forms in an application to find out something, such as if a particular form it loaded, or how many of a particular type of form are loaded. Windows Forms does not include a Forms collection, however, so gaining such functionality in Visual Basic...

Hi, I'm a SQL Server DBA and I'm trying to get a listing of the SQL Servers on the network. I installed Visual Basic 2005 Express edition and used the SQL Server 2005 ServerInfo sample which uses SMO (SQL Server Management Objects). I chose SMO over SQL-DMO because SMO seemed to list more SQL Servers including named instances. Everything worked fine on our local domain. I then logged off and connected to the remote domain (in Europe)...

The Reps team have been experiencing that Access 2002 unexpectedly quits while working and also lots of Corruption Failures and "Record lock can not update" messages since the upgrade from Windows 2000 and Access 200 to Windows XP and Access 2002 (XP) was done. Now, they are working and at anytime in anywhere of the application access unexpectedly quits with no error messages and the info that was being entered

Hi, I'm using PHP 4.4.4 on Apache 2 on Fedora Core 5. PHP was installed using Apache's apxs and the php library was installed to /usr/local/php. However, when I set my "error_reporting" setting to be "E_ALL", notices are still not getting reported. The perms on my file are 664, with owner root and group root. The php.ini file is located at /usr/local/lib/php/php.ini. Any ideas why the setting does not seem to be having an effect? ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
