Parameters Queries, Forms and Reports

Hi,
I'm trying to create a report that feeds from multiple Parameter
Queries; I want those queries to share one Parameter Form (by this I
mean a single form to alter the same criteria in my multiple queries);
and this are my troubles so far:

1) Can't get my queries to read from a form at all. This is the syntax
I'm using: [Forms]![FilterForm]![ElementName], when I run the query by
double clicking it it prompts me for values.

2: Can't get option boxes to work with text in the FilterForm: Trying
to filter a field that allows only two options in text format so my
three buttons for the form are "A", "B" and "A+B" to include all.
Basically I have two questions here: How to set data type to text? and
What's the name to use in the queries so they get the right value (is
it the frame name)?

Looking ahead I see a problem coming, one has to set the Reports Source
property to the query that feeds it. I'm trying to feed it from more
than one query. Can this be done?

Thanks in advance.

I have been having endless difficulty creating reports/queries that set any relevent parameters from controls in forms. I am creating an application under access 2003 but will target access 2000. The access file is in access 2000 format. I have a form that will hold the relevent parameters for the query/report that reports the statistics for all job records that match a certain criteria. These are: - A Customer Name.

Let's assume that we have a database on some SQL server (let it be MS SQL Server) and that we want to execute some parameterized query as a pass.through query. How can we pass parameters to the server ? Is it possible to use parameters in pass-through queries ? An additional question: Is it possible to connect to a database on MySQL or PostgreSQL using ADO ? Is it possible to execute pass-through queries with parameters, using ADO...

Hi everybody! Recently I was struggling with client/server issues in MS Access/PostgreSQL combination. Although Access is intuitive and easy to use desktop database solution, many problems appear when someone is trying to use it as front-end for real server database systems such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. One of these problems is regarding pass-through queries and parameters. I wanted to have all the code on client, while executing it on...

I understand it's easy to list all saved queries of a given Access database via Msysobjects system table. However, I have not seen any posting over this NG or other similar ones that also include SQL statement(content) of these queries, though I've noticed some VB code for that. Is that because it's simply impossible to get a query content (not query resultset) from a SQL stmt? Thanks in advance.

Hi, Any help on this one will be greatly appreciated as I have spent too long banging my head against the screen trying to get it sorted. Basically I would like to have a select all records option in a combo box that is used in an unbound form for my report parameter. I have tried to explain it in further detail below: - In my DB I have numerous forms are used to input details into a table (TblMasterTable).

I am running Access 2002. I have some reports I would like to be able to run from VBA or interactively. The reports use queries with parameters. When the user runs the report, the parameter prompts for the query are displayed, and the user fills them in. What I would like to do is set those parameter values from VBA when running the reports. Is there a way to do that? Thanks in advance, amorphous

Is anyone able to provide me with a link to useful documentation or just outright explain to me how to set query parameters dynamically? I'm really new to Access and databases in general but I suspect that there is a way to insert criteria into a query besides opening it up and typing "and" and "or" on the criteria row of each column. I have a query that shows thousands of records (students in different classes taking different tests)...

Hi, I’ve lurked for a bit and certainly hope you folks can be as much help to me as you have been to others. My problem is basically trying to query several results in a single field (“or” type) but I would like to do so as a parameter so it prompts me when I open the report. I am working with MS Access 2000. Here is my situation.

Hello Experts! Does anyone know if there is a way to set the values of query parameters from VBA for a report's recordsource? (i.e., I want to set the values of the parameters and NOT have the user prompted for them). Based on a Microsoft page (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287437), I tried the following approach: Private Sub Report_Open(Cancel As Integer) Dim sql As String

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
