I am using Windows 2000 and Access 2003 and noticed that when I click a
control on a report, it takes a few seconds for the "click" to take
place. Its laggy. Same with moving controls, adding new ones, etc.
Any ideas?
Users in my company are reporting slowness in MS Word as well.
We also have Lotus Notes.
TIA. 2 1174
Tony's site has an excellent article on Access performance issues which has
speeded up my applications. The greatest performance enhancement I witnessed
for a FE/BE setup was to open a form (hidden) bound to a small table as the
database opens.

Thanks Mark, I will look at this.
However, this is not when running reports/queries. It's when editing
reports.
We also are having a slowness in Word. So I think its a Office
2003/Lotus Notes issue. This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

Our company intranet allows various users to submit address information and
contact names and numbers using ASP pages, that save to an Access 2000
database. There are no issues with retrieving, editing, or deleting the
information. This solution works well for 60 users, and results in a
database about 300 kB, that feeds other processes downstream.
Because most of the front end users are novice (or temporary hires), we want
to make more...

Hello All,
Is it better to create a query in DAO where a report has 4 sub-reports
each of whose record source is a query created at runtime and
everything is in 1 MDB file?
From what I've read and experienced it appears DAO is the way to go in
this situation, so when is it good to use ADOX to create queries?
Why do I ask the question? I've created a MDB file which uses DAO, but

I have an A2K database that has links to 3 of my other databases
(external links) to run some reports. The coding in any of the 4 is
pretty simple.
Recently when we make a new .mde for the "main" database, the first
time we run our reports (all executed from code from a form), we get a
Type Mismatch Error on the line:

I've developed an ERP application that we use internally and works quite
well. I receiving more and more requests from users to print various
transactions, order forms, search results, etc. I haven't decided what the
best way to do this is because I don't have much experience with generating
printable forms.
Early on I knew one of my modules would need to print a clear report so I
used the open source SharpPDF library to generate the...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
