To hide columns in a form with datasheet view

Dear reader,

In a form with the property "Default view" as DataSheet I like to hide some
fields in the datasheet view.

It is possible to manage this with the command Format>>Unhide columns, a
form pops up with tick boxes to hide or unhide the columns.

Is there VBA code available to do the same.

Me.FieldName.vi sible = False

Has no effect on the presentation in the datasheet view.

Tanks for any help.

Kind regards,

Simon van Beek

Hi: I have a tables in relationship to each other. When I open the main table (table 1), I see a "+" at the very left of every record. Clicking on the "+" expands the data of the linked table (table 2). Now ... when I create a form from table 1, I didn't manage show these 2 tables the same way (with the "+" at the left side of every record) as it was shown as table. Access insists of making a regular form out of table 1, but accepts...

I added a new field to a table in the tables database. In the code database, I added a new column for the new field to a datasheet subform. I opened it in datasheet view and moved the column to the position I wanted it. No records are returned by the form's query (it has a "Where ID = -1" clause and the GoToRecord proc on the main form changes the subform's recordsource). When I opened the form and started adding data to the subform,...

Hi everybody, This time a very very difficult case: I have a table "tblStudent", there are 50 students, I also made a form "frmStudent" based on "tblStudent", now if I don't want to show all the students in a classical (vertically, from top to bottom) way, but make them "sitting" in 50 text boxes, 5 rows 10 columns, how to do it? Thanks in advance.

Dear reader, I try to switch between to columns in a form showing as datasheet view. The idée is to show one of the two columns in a datasheet. The problem is that the property visible yes and visible now dos not work in the data sheet view.

Hi, I am trying to print a subform containing approx 50 columns in datasheet view. The printout cannot fit more than 8-10 columns. Does anyone know of any way to print all columns; i don't care if the printout spans multiple pages. FYI, the records displayed in the sub-form are dynamically obtained based on some ad-hoc querying in the main form. Any report, etc. generated will have to have the same set of records.

If i foud something i popolate the Data grid view on the second page. Now the magic if i...

Hi I have a datasheet with 32 columns, the first 2 columns are frozen and disabled. What I would like to do is as a user tabs thru a row on the sheet is to shift the sheet to the left so it becomes the first column next to the frozen columns ( column 3 ), also if the user back tabs the sheet would shift to the right. I am doing it now by setting the columnwidth of the column being tabbed out of to a width of 10 and when it gets focus...

Dear reader, In a datasheet form you have the possibility to hide or unhide columns. But in case the datasheet form is a sub-form this functionality is not longer available.

That rather long subject says it. In Access97 running on XP - I want to display a Maximized size Form01, then open a Restore size Datasheet View Form02 on top of the first Form. PopUp won't give me Datasheet view. Dialog mode won't give me Datasheet view I could make Form01 Restore size and expand it to fill the Window in Restore size (maybe DoCmd.MoveSize Right, Down, Width, Height) - I don't want this.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
