Help with SELECT syntax

I have a bit of code that loops through a listbox and creates a string of
multiple selections and then passes that string to a SQL statement. However,
I cannot seem to get a handle on the proper syntax for the WHERE clause to
properly pass the string in the format of 'X' OR 'Y' to the query's criteria
field. Can someone clarify this syntax or point me to a good example of
using a varible string in the WHERE clause of a SQL statement?
Thanks in advance

Use the IN operator

The SQL statement will end up something like this:
WHERE MyTextField IN ("X", "Y", "Z")

Here's an example that loops through the ItemsSelected in a multi-select
list box and builds up that kind of string:
Use a multi-select list box to filter a report

How about showing us what you've done so we can see where you've gone wrong?

Help! I'm trying to understand the new ANSI join syntax (after many years of coding using the old style). I am now working with an application that only understands ANSI syntax so I am struggling. My first (old style syntax) SQL statement below produces 60 rows: SELECT A1.CONTACTID, A1.LASTNAME, A1.FIRSTNAME, A1.ACCOUNT, A6.CITY, A6.STATE, A1.WORKPHONE, A1.FAX, A1.EMAIL

I have been losing sleep over this puzzle, and I'm convinced my train of thought is heading in the wrong direction. It is difficult to explain my circumstances, so I will present an identical make-believe challenge in order to avoid confusing the issue further. Suppose I was hosting a dinner and I wanted to invite exactly 12 guests from my neighborhood. I'm really picky about that... I have 12 chairs besides my own, and I want them all...

Hi - For my VB.NET app, I have a SQL2K database that I use to create a dataset with multiple data tables. I'm trying to filter the dataview based on values in a second table (ReportsTo) in the same dataset, and it's not working. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
