Mobile Device and File Dialog Box

Hello all,

The program I am creating takes certain files found on a Pocket PC and places
them on a specific directory on a network drive. It is automated in the
transfering of the files, and in recording in the database the paths the data
were
saved to. When I demo the application using example files on different
network drives it works great, but when I try to explorer to my sync'd Pocket
PC, there is no drive called "Mobile Device" or any other designation linking
to my Pocket PC.
--------Code Breakdown-------
I have a browse button on a form thats calls the windows explorer dialog box
as found here:http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0001.htm. As mentioned I can
access every network drive I have on my server, but there is no link for the
Mobile PC. I do however have the link to the Mobile Device in the normal My
Computer, Windows
Explorer and on the ActiveSync program. I did notice that in other programs
(Word, excel) the open/save dialog box there has no link to the Mobile Device
either.

Is there a flag I have to set to be able to see my Pocket PC using the
open/save dialog box,
or is another application I may have to link to? Is what I want to do even
possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you configure Active Sync, you have to choose to sync your Notes,
Tasks, Inbox, etc. In order for what you are trying to do to work, you must
sync Files as well. When you choose to synch Files, a shortcut will be
placed on your Windows Desktop, to a sub-folder in your My Documents folder.
The default name is PocketPC_MyDocu ments.

Once created, it cannot be renamed or moved without having to go back and
set up a new partnership - so don't move it or rename it.

This is your gateway between the mobile device and your PC. Files put into
this folder are automatically synced with the mobile device when connected.

Drivers then take along the device and get signatures from customers when items delivered. Once drivers are back, the information to be synched back to the access db as drivers may have amended the order detail. How does one go about synching to/from mobile device? Are there any code examples...

Hi there, I've just started to dig into mobile ASP.NET and I'd really wish to clarify few things. I have the experience with ASP.NET. 1) Some tutorials mention something called Microsoft Mobile Internet Toolkit to be installed over .NET Framework 1.0. Is this Toolkit required when using ..NET Framework 1.1? At this moment my research indicate that MMIT is an integral part of .NET 1.1 and DOES NOT to be installed. Can anyone confirm...

I am new to mobile development and am having some trouble sources for the tasks I need to perform. I have been looking around and I can find plenty of information on copying the file initiating on the PC end, I need it to initiate on the Mobile Device end. I am writing an application and have the need to open files that exist on an ActiveSync connected Mobile Device (in this case, a PocketPC, could be a SmartPhone). When the mobile device is connected via ActiveSync an I open Windows Explorer, under My Computer, I see "Mobile Device" and can browse files on the PocketPC. However, in my C# code, when I open a FileDialog, "Mobile Device" does not appear under My Computer.

I saw a MS demo a few years back where they developed a web page and the software automatically rendered it for different devices. Is this what I'm looking for? http://www.asp.net/mobile/ Much of the info looks old. I have a MSDN account where can I download it or is it already in VS 2008 and I just don't know how to find it? I'm mainly interested in having simple pages render in Internet Explorer

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
