In my application, I have many forms. Some of these forms contains some
labels, which are placed in the header section, and act as a column
header. Because of the available space, the orientation is vertical.
This application (A2K format) is used by many users on different
platforms and with both A2K and A2K3, without problems.
However, one of the users reports that in the forms with vertical
labels, the text is invisible. When these forms are printed, the text is
invisible too. Enlarging the lable size does not solve the problem. When
I change the orientation to horizontal, the problem is solved. So, this
would be a nice workaround. However, in some case the labels cannot be
placed horizontally because the available space is insufficient.
Does anyone how to solve this problem? What could be the cause that only
with this user vertical lables are invisible?
Thank you very much for your assistance! 1 1905

Hi All,
I'd like to include a datasheet on my user interface but since I'm
starting to run tight on space, I'd like to have a vertically-oriented
datasheet (column 1 has labels, column 2 has values), i.e. a
transposed datasheet or datasheet in column format. A vertical
datasheet will look cleaner, eliminate the need to scroll across (for
miles) and lay out bit more efficiently since I have some long labels.
It seems like Access only...

I have a report that has been running without incident for 2 years.
Today all the labels on the report no longer print.
All are Visible in their individual property pages.
Labels on all other reports in the system are unaffected.
Adding a new label to the affected report works perfectly, in design
view but does not appear in the print preview and does not print.
Anyone have any idea what could have happened.
Building a new report accepts...

Here is my situation. I have multiple labels on a form but only
certain ones will become visible while using the form. Depending on
which check box(s) you pick, on another form, determines the labels
that appear. I have that much working as of now. What I need to know
is, how do I format the labels to align underneath one and other. So
when I check the first check box, the corresponding label appears and
when I check the third check box...

Hi:
I have a user who has labels that are set up 3 across and 11 vertical (which is unusual at
best), and he wants me to print names and addresses on them. I have already set up for
labels 10 vertical and 3 across (Avery 5160)which are another standard the user has, but
can't find any in the setup for labels that show 11 vertical. I am therefore using the
Avery 5160 as a start, and modifying the top and bottom margins (the margins on the...

I've got a form on which there is a picture box with a picture in it.
On top of that I place two labels and make their backgrounds transparent.
What I expect to see is the picture showing through behind the labels, but
what I actually get is the background of the labels painted in the
background colour of the form.
Can I have "transparent" labels over a picture box? I've done this many
times in my VB days and don't see why it should be...

Hi,
I'm trying to add a label that shows the text vertically and right
aligned. It's working fine when the label is horizontal, but when
vertical, the text disappears. The labels are ok when designing the
same forms on my work pc, but do as mentioned at home. I've got a
feeling something simple is amiss, and any suggestions are welcome.

A ASPX page has a DataList control with a few Labels. This page also
has a CheckBox which resides OUTSIDE the DataList. By default, this
CheckBox is checked. If the CheckBox is checked, then the Labels
existing in the DataList should be visible but if the CheckBox is
unchecked by the user, the Labels inside the DataList should be made
invisible.
How do I do this?
Note that the AutoPostBack property of the CheckBox has been set to

Hi,
I have a question about vertical text property for labels.
I have set several labels to show vertical text on one of my forms. I
had no problems with them on my desktop computer.
Now I installed the same application on my laptop and the text
disappeared.
The only way I found in order to reveal them was to change the Font to
"Aharoni".
I do not want to use Aharoni. Other computers may not have it

Hi, I'm using VS2005 and .net 2.0. I'm creating an application that has 3
forms. I want allow users to move forward and backward with the forms and
retain the data users have entered. I thought I'll make the inactive forms
invisible but this is creating a memory corruption problem when user close
the form2 or form3 and not the formMain.
My main form has a Next button which makes the main form invisible and
starts a new form which I'll...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
