evaluating calculated controls

is there an easy way to evaluate a calculated control step by step? i have a
lot of long expressions in a lot of my controls and if there's an error,
tracking it down is a PAIN. excel has a built-in function for evaluating
formulas... does access? thanks.

I don't believe so.

You can use Debug.Print but I doubt that will help you. That basically
returns the value of something. Ex:
Debug.Print Me.Text0

Instead of long expressions, you could create a function. Let's say you
have the expression
=IIF("A" = "B",True,Fa lse)
you could change the calculation to
=CompAB("A","B" )
Function CompAB(strA, strB) As Boolean
If strA = strB Then CompAB = True
End Function

With the code window open, click to the right of Function CompAB. This
will put a red dot to the left of it. Now when this function is called
you can step through it and see what the values are that were passed to
the function and how they change as it is processed.

I have a subform named "sbfrmParts" with a list of parts along with the quantity and price. I have used a text box in the subform's footer and set the control source to "=Sum(*)". I set the format to display currency. This text box is called "SubformTotal", and is visible property is set to "No". On the main form I have made another text box and set its control source to "=.Form!SubformTotal". When I enter some parts everything works...

I'm playing with a generic routine to export data, the concept is to have a list of data driven templates defining what fields to output. Evaluating a simple variable field name in the function is easily achieved by something like dim rst as dao.recordset .... strField = "Amount" debug.print rst.fields(strField) ' or just rst(strField)

Hi guys, I'm new to using Access but have I some familiarity with databases in general. I have a quick question for the gurus here. I'm trying to work with a Form in Access that has a Calculated control. Each one of the Controls on the Form is bound to my table to its respective field. My problem is that once a record is saved, the value in the Calculated control doesn't appear in the table. By this I mean... It seems that the calculation...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
