There can be a number of reasons for that, which is hard to decide
based on the minimum of information you've provided for us, but one of
them is that there might be an an error with your network connection.

Another frequent problem causing similar error messages, is when there
is corruption in the db, which I've been fortunate enough to be able to
solve through using the /decompile option.

Here is a read on corruption
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm

Here is a step by step instruction on usage of the /decompile option
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/decompile.htm

I don't think it would hurt to try the /decompile option on a *copy* of
your db.

Roy's suggestions are logical. Is the database you created your new
form in, or the table you based your form on, located on another
computer? You may need to verify that those files exist and that your
network rights allow you to read from them. Also, as is obvious, check
your physical connection to the network.

Hi there, I am using the SQL managed provider in ADO.NET to fill a dataset with a large number of records. I periodically get an exception with the description "General Network Error" when trying to fill the dataset. The problem occurs rarely. I've searched Google and have seen many posts dealing with this problem. The typical culprits are: Network Problems: A bad cable, NIC, or router can cause this problem. In my case, however, both the...

We've had a recurring problem where all of a sudden we get a DBMSSOCN General Network Error on any page that connects to SQL Server. Then we have to reboot the server and everything works fine again, for a few more hours and then we have the same problem. Someone suggested adding ";Network Library=DBMSSOCN" to our connection strings. I've tried to figure out exactly what this does and why not having it would be a problem. Any ideas?...

I have an application installed at a customer site that has been getting a general network error for a couple of years. I was hoping that .NET 2.0 would clear it up, but unfortunately it didn't. The .NET 2.0 exception does give a little more info than .NET 1.1 did, but not much. Can anybody give any pointers about how to track this down? It occurs every 10 hrs around the clock, like clockwork. I have included the stack trace, but...

I used the connectionObj.read_until() method to read the data from the server and made the connection as self.conn = telnetlib.Telnet(so.telnetHost, so.telnetPort) thats too fine.

An unusual spin to this recurring disk or network error in a Terminal Server environment. Access 2000, Terminal Server 2000, file server is windows 2000. All users have a separate copy of the front end db, everyone accesses the back-end db via a network share. To preface, non Terminal Server users (4 or 5 in office) never have this problem. There are two Terminal Servers running win 2000, both basically identical. This error affects...

I downloaded the personal website starter kit and when I run it I get the error shown below. I found a way of using Launch Surface Area Configuration that is supposed to fix the remote setting but I tried it and still get the error. I do not have SQL Server 2005 installed (thought I did once). I do have SQL Server 2008 installed. I don't see anywhere in the code where SQL Server 2005 is referenced.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
