Greetings!
I've searched groups.google.com already to see if I can determine if
using PHP/MySQL (if needed) for a web site I wish to develop. As the
subject indicated, it will be a content based site with videos - NO,
it's not a porn site though.
I thought that I'd list the key requirements/specifications for my web
site below and was wondering if some of you'd be so kind as to provide
your thoughts on each and comment on them with...

I am trying to build a web form that uses the "POST" method (too much
data for GET) to send data to a second form, then displays the
response of that form post. The second web form requires standard
authentication. I have a solution implemented in which the following
occurs:
1) My website posts form data to a backend cgi script.
2) The script authenticates and sends data to the second form.
3) The script downloads and prints the...

I am trying to 'POST' values from a form in a ASP file that
has anonymous access permissions. I can retrieve the form
values when I redirect to this page from another page which
has also has anonymous access permissions.
However, if I change the page from which I'm redirecting to
use NT authentication, then I cannot retrieve the values of
the form fields using POST method.
Specifically, if the following file (MyStart.asp) has anonymous

Hi,
I've been researching this, and I'm not sure if what I'm trying to do is
possible, but I thought that I'd ask:
I have two webservers/websites.
The first webserver/website is running Win2K/IIS5, and I want it to act
as a kind of "portal" to the other webserver/website.

I've got a client who wants to see some immediate results on a brand new
website. within a week, they'd like to see the following:
1) basic user authentication (using php sessions/cookies to maintain
authentication)
2) some basic content (text, photos, audio) uploading mechanism
3) basic content browsing in a somewhat neatly formatted presentation
knowing how quickly they wanted something they could look at, i
initially suggested...

I setup FormsAuthentication on a couple websites where it has been working
as expected for a long time. I used this code to setup the same type of
authentication on a new website I am working on and the Cookie Name is not
getting setup the same way.
In my Web.config file, I use the following basic settings on both the old
and new websites:
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms name="SiteAuth" loginUrl="Logon.aspx" protection="All"

Hi guys,
Before I spend hours barking up the wrong tree, am I right in thinking
that there is no way for a non ASP.NET page to POST to a ASP.NET page
and be able to retrieve the variables in any fashion? So far as I can
determine, the POST gets changed into a GET before it hits any of my
code and the variables have disappeared.
Situation is: We're adding "Membership" services for our clients, and
obviously want our clients to be able...

What, from a high level point of view, is the difference (in Visual
Studio 2005) between Website (accessed with Open Website or Create
Website from the StartPage) that is an ASP.NET Website, and a Project
that is created with the "ASP.NET Application" template?
I see some obvious differences: the Project creates the working folder
under the Visual Studio 2005\Projects directory, while the Website
creates it in the Inetpub\wwwroot...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
