If you had read this newsgroup, you would know that it's been published many
times that recovering the database file password is easy... so easy, in
fact, that there's at least one free package available for doing so.

And, if you had read the FAQ at http://www.mvps.org/access/netiquette.htm,
you'd know that advertising in this newsgroup is in violation of newsgroup
rules and the charter.

Please refrain from violating the charter of the newsgroup again in the
future. Thank you for your consideration.

Does it tell you how to read an AUP for a newsgroup? And why would anyone
pay good money for something that's freely available?

Is there a way to recover a lost password in Mysql 4.1. I have seen many articles and howto's on how to kill the Mysql process and then restart using skip grant tables option. I am not trying to reset the password but rather recover it. Resetting the password to something else would cause a problem some of the underlying programs that rely on MySQL. I don't feel like changing code for every application that is using MySQL in my site. ...

I am not able to repair the corrupted Windows 2000 Advanced Server installation but the file system is intact. Hi all, This is probably really simple but the answer has eluded me so far. I have a frontend application which when closed on PC's at work, just closes. However, when I close it (an exact copy) on my home PC, the forms & database window close but then prompt for the database password. I can enter the password or click on cancel and then access will shut down. Is there a setting or option I am missing on my home PC? I do not have the same...

I have some accounting and tax receipting type applications, developed for charitable and non profit groups, that are exhibiting strange behaviour on a few of the 30 or 40 user machines. When some users (about 3 or 4 it seems) close the frontend db the Access database password prompt appears. Users can just Cancel the pw prompt (or enter the correct password) and the db will then close. On the MS Office forum I found a post that...

We used software from a now defunct company for many years and all of our data is stored in an access database. Two years ago our software was updated, but we never burned the new version to disk. The computer has now crashed and data recover is not possible on the drive. We have a backup of the database but only an older version of the program to access it. The older version does not show all of the fields in the newer version. We have found a...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
