Please Help --Adding a Primary Key to a Table with over 180K records

1 New Member
Hi,
I am currently trying to add a primary key to a table with 180K records. I know that each of these records is unique but there is currently no unique identifier for each record. Therefore, I am trying to add an autonumber as a primary key but I keep getting the error message "file sharing lock count exceeded" I found an microsoft solution --but it sounds scary--like it could ruin my computer if I attempt it.

Any suggestions!

THANKS!

Hi,

And this message appears only when you want to add an autoincrement Field in your table?

I suppose that if you try to add a field in you table that is not primary key there will be the same result!

I suppose that there is other users connected to the database and so you can't modify it... It's locked for modifications.. .

Have a nice luck..

:)

Hey! When trying to compile the code for a ordered vector class I get the following error: undefined reference to `WinMain@16' Anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong? I've been through this code multiple times and have no idea what would cause an error like this, I've never seen one like it before. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The class is supposed to be able to create a sorted list of vectors of type Object. If an...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
