Simple MS Access Update ... Wont Update

Hi,

For some reason, when I put this query in all it does is give me the
old value and doesn't subtract the value by 1. I'm not new to SQL but
this is quite odd.
UPDATE Rental_Line_Ite ms SET Rental_Line_Ite ms.Days_Left =
(Rental_Line_It ems.Days_Left-1)
WHERE (((Rental_Line_ Items.Returned_ Date) Is Null));

Hi: As those who have looked at this newsgroup recently will realize, I am a neophyte with Access, although I have experienced with Approach (the Lotus product). There are things I could easily do in Approach that appear to require some subtle and complex manipulation in Access. Herein lies my present problem. I have a number of tables, including one called "tblPO", which contains purchase orders. Some of the details of these change...

Hi, I have an Access database and am having an ASP.NEt application written for it. It is almost complete. I have a hosting company that I signed up with a month ago but before I did anything I asked them if Access and ASP.NET would work on their servers, they said yes so I bought in. Now they are saying my application wont work on their servers using MSaccess and I can only use SQL or asp 3.0. They are saying Microsoft is trying to...

Sorry if this is too simple to post… We’re about to develop a web site where a couple of users want to administer users access. Users access via a username and password. Assuming that these users don’t want (and wont be allowed) to manually go into any XML files to add users etc, what solutions would you suggest for this. They will need to be able to (in simple terms) : a) Add / delete new users (username, password, description)...

*argh* ... *pull hairs* I've recently started developing from ASP to ASP.NET The switch was fairly smooth since i had done some VB.net before ... then came...FORMS! :) I find it astounding at how difficult it has become to control a form, something that was so dead easy in ASP.

Hey Folks, I'm having a heck of a time wrapping mind around AJAX. Anyone know of a simple, straight-forward example for pulling a simple query from mysql with PHP using AJAX? As I understand it I need a PHP script that pulls the query and dumps the data into XML format, that is called by triggering a javascript event that reads that file with XMLhttprequest.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
