Can anyone help.
I would like to create a table that contains references to a series of
JPG files, so that I can view each image and related data in a form,
page by page. It seems that the only way to insert the reference to the
image is using the "Insert Image" dialog box, and with my long list of
images, I'll be old & gray by the time I am done. What I really want to
do is type in the list of filenames (or cut&paste), and have them
interpreted as links to ole objects. Is this possible?, or has Bill
Gates condemned us to dialog box purgatory?

You have to set up the OLE type information
as well as providing the filenames.
AFAIK, the easiest way to do this is to use
an Append Query to copy an existing record
to a new record.
Then just change the file linked/embedded in the new object.

Possibly.

OK, I think I understand what you need.

It is possible that the later-referenced downloads may illustrate, not only
what you ask, but some alternative methods of displaying the images.
or has Bill Gates condemned us to dialog box purgatory?
We have heard that Bill Gates was "an advocate of Access" but not that he
personally architected, designed, or implemented it. So I would say, in any
case, the answer to this question is "No. Even if you are condemned to
'dialog box purgatory', Bill Gates is not the one who pronounced sentence
upon you."
Now to the part that may actually be of some help:
The sample imaging databases at http://accdevel.tripod.com illustrate three
approaches to handling images in Access, and the download includes an
article discussing considerations in choosing an approach. Two of the
approaches do not use OLE Objects and, thus, avoid the database bloat, and
some other problems, associated with images in OLE Objects.
If you are printing the images in reports, to avoid memory leakage, you
should also see MVP Stephen Lebans' http://www.lebans.com/printfailures.htm.
PrintFailure.zi p is an Access97 MDB containing a report that fails during
the Access formatting process prior to being spooled to the Printer Driver.
This MDB also contains code showing how to convert the contents of the Image
control to a Bitmap file prior to printing. This helps alleviate the "Out of
Memory" error that can popup when printing image intensive reports.

After following Microsofts admonition to reformat my system before doing a

notes, warnings or errors prior to reformatting my system. Prior to the
reformatting, I copied the help.rtf file onto a CD and checked the box to...

A question for gui application programmers. . .
I 've got some GUI programs, written in Python/wxPython, and I've got
a help button and a help menu item. Also, I've got a compiled file
made with the microsoft HTML workshop utility, lets call it
c:\path\help.chm. My question is how do you launch it from the GUI?
What logic do I put behind the "help" button, in other words.
I thought it would be

Is there a way to get help the way you get it from the Python
interpreter (eg, 'help(dir)' gives help on the 'dir' command) in the
module cmd.Cmd? I know how to add commands and help text to cmd.Cmd
but I would also like to get the man-page-like help for classes and
functions. Does anyone know how to do that? Thanks.

Missing Help Files
When I enter "recordset" as the keyword and search the Visual Basic Help index,
I get many topics of interest in the resulting list. But there isn't any
information available from clicking on many of the available topics (mostly
methods but some properties are also unavailable). This same problem occurs
with many, if not most, keywords.
Is there any way I can activate these "missing" help topics? HELP!

I have written a help file (chm) for a DLL and referenced it using Help.ShowHelp
My expectation is that a developer using my DLL would be able to access this help file during his development time using "F1" help within the VB IDE. Is this expectation achievable
In trying to test my help file in the IDE, I have a solution with 2 projects: the DLL and a tester. VB does not look for my help file; instead, it looks for path to my source code...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
