We're implementing automated logins to Oracle, using the users NT
password. However, when trying to link in tables through the ODBC
datasource in MS Access, we're encountering errors. Because users
local tables are kept on the domain, the path comes up as
domainname/username.tablen ame. It appears that Access doesn't like the
/, and therefore falls over. When linking tables that aren't proceded
by the / it works fine.
Is there any way round this? Can a VBA module be written for example,
that puts quotes round the table path to bring it back. I've had a dig
around, but can't find anything that will help me with this problem.

I don't have an answer for the specific question, but I'd use pass
through queries in this particular circumstance. It's a lot more work
than linked tables, though, but it does bypass some of the problems some
Oracle schemae generate with ODBC linked tables.

Architecture: Access 2003 client, Oracle 9i repository, no Access security

100 or so users, in 3 or 4 groups (Oracle roles actually): Admins, Updaters
and ReadOnly. Each group sees a different set of menu options when they
open the client and login to Oracle.
For the sake of speed I use pass-through queries here and there for updates

I have 2 classes that work great as a windows app to retrieve and
process data from an Oracle9i db. When I implement them in a Service
program running as Local System, it fails on the .open. I am using
OLEDB for Oracle 9.2.0.4. I have verified the Oracle Client install,
