He has a nice long list. I wonder how many of them provide source code
and for what added cost??

Have any of you tried to export into Quickbooks? We have had quite a
few requests from clients and get many inquiries from potential ones
to get data from our lodge software into Quickbooks. Our application
basically just tracks revenues. I have no idea how to do this.

I have also thought about offering a 3rd party accounting system as a
module they could purchase (would have to be customizable most
likely), but QB seems to be the way to go (although we aren't big fans
of QB, especially because of their expensive and required web only
updates, etc....).

I will certainly check into the ones listed at this web site. I don't
see any advertised any more in Access Advisor (just FMS tools).

Yes I have experimented with Quickbooks Pro

The problem is, like Peachtree, it gets me 80% there and there is no way to
customize some of the forms or add some of the fields I need in invoices,
quotes, etc.

Like Peachtree, Quickbooks appears to be set up for a products (inventory).
I sell services and need a system the recognzies this and allows me to
customize it.

QB provides for the ability to import transactions. See the help file
"importing data, IIF file format" for information on the file format.
However the client needs to run the File - Import menu option from QB.

I alread looked at this list -- it's pretty old.

Most of the software listed hasn't been updated for a year or two. The
demos I downloaded were'nt much help

That's why I asked if anyone has personal experience

The SDK for Quicbooks works well and is a free download from the Intuit
site.

An excellent product for working with Peachtree data can be found at:
http://www.multiwareinc.com/pawcom.htm

I have found both to be excellent for getting data in and out of Access
and/or Excel.
