Database window (list of forms) is frozen

I think I broke something. I am developing a database. I have 13
forms, so when the database window is showing the forms there are two
columns with a scroll bar on the bottom. After I open a form to work on
it or after I launch the MainMenu form to test the application. When I
get back to the list of forms the scroll bar doesn't work. In fact,
when I double click on the scroll bar the MainMenu launches.

I can unfreeze the pane by clicking on one of the other database objects
(like queries or reports) and then go back to forms and the scroll bar
works. Also, I think this is tied into a problem with the database when
I try to update a form and save it and then launch the mainmenu all is
ok, but when I close MS ACCESS and go back to the mdb file for more
development, when I launch the main menu I get a serious error and
Access creates a backup and wants to send a report to Microsoft.

HELP!!! This just started happening this morning and I am beside myself
with worry that it's corrupted. ARGHHHHH!!!

Regards,
SueB

I have a VB6 DLL that contains a class and a number of forms. A method of the class shows any one of the forms modally, depending on the method arguments. The method is called from a modal form in the host application (also VB6). Everything works fine when the host application and DLL are run in the VB6 IDE as a group. However, when I refer to the compiled DLL (outside the IDE), the forms in the DLL are displayed but 'frozen' i.e. they...

Hi, I want to open a popup-window which displays a list to the user. From this list, the user can select an item, and the data regarding this item is then transferred to some fields on the main window (and the popup then closes). But I am having several problems. I have an example "main.html" which opens an example "lookup.html". In the actual application "lookup.html" is generated dynamically be a server, and will have different lists...

I am trying to split up and secure a database that we've been using on a network for a few years, following the procedure listed in Q304932 from microsoft. I create a new blank database for the front end, and am able to import tables and link from the backend. Queries come in ok too. When I tried to import Modules, forms, and reports, most of them failed with the error: "File Not Found:...

Hi, I have an MDI application which has aboout 10 child windows. The way the app needs to work is that only one window should be visible at a time and it should be maximized within the parent window. I have set all my child windows to be WindowState.Maximized but after showing 2 or 3 windows, the windows all drop back to Normal state. I have tried various things to overcome this inclusing overriding OnResize etc but none seem to give...

Hi, I've been having a problem with C++ Windows Forms apps not "ending" when you close the form window. I've searched about this problem all over the place and most searches have lead me to believe that this has to do with unreleased form component events or event handlers. I'm comparatively new to .net and windows forms, in the sense that though I've been using them for over 2 years now, it's been rather sporadic. I work with...

platform: windows xp professional, python 2.5, wxpython When I double-check on my program file test.py (for simplicity I'll be using this code below), I see the window just fine. But the ms-dos black window pops up in the background. On Linux, no issues at all. How can I get rid of that ms-dos black window in the background? something I need to add to my code? a setting to adjust in windows? thanks in advance.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
