MS Query not enabling join options when merging dbfs

Hi there,

I am trying to import data from 2 dbf files into excel using the 'get
external data' option which launches ms query. Ultimately I am merging
data with a right join statement.

I can successfully select the dbf files, and drag the common ID fields
to make a match, yet when trying to select the right join option, the
left and right options are both greyed out and cannot be selected. If
I type in the SQL manually, it works although i get the message 'cannot
display graphically'

Any ideas much appreciated.

Steve

Hello All & Thanks in advance for your help! Background: 1) tblT_Documents is the primary parent transaction table that has 10 fields and about 250,000 rows 2) There are 9 child tables with each having 3 fields each, their own PK; the FK back to the parent table; and the unique data for that table. There is a one to many relation between the parent and each of the 9 child rows. Each child table has between 100,000 and 300,000

I have a query that uses the same view 6 times. It seems that the database engine is calculating the view each time. The result is very poor performance. The same query takes 2 sec with MS SQL, and more than 10 sec with PostgreSQL. Is there a method to improve the performance besides merging the components of the view into one table? I believe that caching query results could have resolved this issue Yonatan Goraly

Probably the answer is there just in front of me only awaiting me to discover it, but: 1: I want to build a query that returns all records in one table for which there is no successful "join" in another table but I have not found what the field criteria should look like? 2: And if/when I succeed I should further like to build a new record (with

One of our clients recently upgraded their Office version to 2003. When they tried to run our program (written in Access 2000), they ended up with the wrong data. My coworker and I have tested this problem and found that it ONLY occurs on Windows XP machines running Office 2003. The problem ends up being that ONE 1-to-1 join in ONE query within the application does not perform as a 1-to-1 join. It acts as though there is no join at all....

I created a person table with various fields such as Suffix, Salutation, etc, Some of these fields may not be mandatory for example suffix. In the actual table itself, I only have a field for suffix ID where 1=Phd, 2= MD. To display all of these to the user, I created a form with an underlying query. The problem I am encountering is this, when we have an empty field, for example where ID="", the query returns nothing. How do i work around...

hello, I've got a big problem ad i'm not able to resolve it. We have a server running oracle 10g version 10.1.0. We usually use access as front end and connect database tables for data extraction. We have been using oracle client 10.1.0.2 with it's odbc for a while without problem. The problem arose when we decided to reconnect all the tables and save password. Some query became suddenly very slow. Then I've discovered that the tables...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
