Need help with multi-user environment

Ok, so I've set up a database over a LAN and got it working. I split
the FE and the BE and I have the client computer accessing the BE on
the host computer. I figured out how to set the refresh rate so that
the FEs update themselves (I set it to 5 seconds for right now). The
databases refresh fine, my problem is, the FE on one computer doesn't
actually save changes to a record it has editted until you quit Access.
Here's an example of what I mean: Both computers are viewing the same
tables from the BE on the host computer. The client computer changes a
single record. The host computer keeps refreshing every five seconds
but the change doesn't show up. But if I exit MS Access on the client
computer (the one that changed the record), the change shows up in
exactly five seconds on the host computer. Why does access only REALLY
save the record after you exit the database? Even if I hit the save
button the change doesn't show up until I exit.

Thanks for any help,
-Robert

When you say "viewing tables", you mean "viewing forms, which are
showing data stored in tables", right?

I need some advise on how to best create an Access 2002 report from multiple "total" queries, each which result in 3- 5 values that I need displayed on my report. Most of the queries do simple counts based on 3 different tables. For instance, I need to count the number of new clients enrolled in a program for a given month or year-to-date grouped by 4 different referral sources (based on the start date for the client). Then I need to count...

Hi, consider the attached code. Serializing the multi-dimensional array takes about 36s vs. 0.36s for the single-dimensional array. Initializing the multi-dimensional array takes about 4s vs. 0.3s for the single-dimensional array. (I know initializing is not necessary in this simple example,

The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
