Access 97 help says the following...
Add new data in Datasheet or Form view
1 Open a Datasheet, or form in Form view.
2 Click New Record on the toolbar.
3 Type the data you want, and then press TAB to go to the next
field.
4 At the end of the record, press TAB to go to the next record.
I want to accomplish the same objective from within code. How do
I do that? 2 5246

The easiest method I know of is so open the form's property sheet, click
on the Other tab, and set Cycle to AllRecords.
A command you might want to look at if that does not suit your needs is
DoCmd.GoToRecor d , , acNewRec
acNewRec did it! Many thx!

I have a form with about 25 fields. In the BeforeUpdate event of the form, I
have code that sets the default value of each field to its current value. For a
new record, I can put the focus in any field to start. If I edit that field and
then click on the new record button in the navigation buttons, the form goes to
a new record and each field has the default value of the previous record. If I
put the focus in any field to start, edit that...

Trouble is, it doesn't happen every time. Yesterday, for example, it
happened only once and not again afterward. Some days ago, a similar
situation. Today, well - I tried 7 times straight to open the report
and each time, A97 shuts down. The seemingly hit 'n miss nature of
the error is intriguing. All I've been able to determine is that if I
allow the report to be opened from within code using this line...

This database has no forms. I am viewing an Access table in datasheet
view. I'd like to execute a macro to execute a function (using
"runcode"). In the function, I'll reading data from the record the
cursor was on in the datasheet at the time I executed the macro.
So, the questions are: 1) In the macro, how to I get my hands on the
record key or record data of the record the cursor was on in the
datasheet at the time I executed the...

Using A97, SP2, most current jet35.
I have a search form. The op enters an id to search/find. If found, a
data entry form is presented for that id. This form has 7 or 8 combos,
a bunch of textboxes, and some command buttons.
At the client site yesterday the user got a "too many databases open"
after entering a bunch of IDs into the search form. Later that day,
after entering a bunch more IDs, she got an out of memory error and the...

Anyone:
I have a simple MSAccess DB which was created from an old ASCII flatfile.
It works fine except for something that just started happening. I'll enter
info in a record, save the record, and try to move to another record and get
an Access error "Record is too large". The record is only half filled, with
many empty fields. If I remove the added data or delete some older data,
then it saves ok and works fine again. Whenever I'm...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...
