Hi all,

I have a database that i need to import an excel sheet into every day.
Is it possible that the first person to open the database access will
import the spreadsheet and then not again untyil the next day. I have
tried this on start up with a macro, but it then imports every time
somebody opens the database.

Create a new table to hold general info about the database e.g. tblDbInfo
give it an ID column of type long with a validation rule of "=1" so the
table can only ever have one row. Another column should be LastImportDate =
Date/Time.
The import routine should update the LastImportDate column after it has
finished, so then when somebody ones the database the macro only runs if
this field is at least 1 day old.

Hey guys, please HELP I am going nuts with the datagrid control. I cannot get the damn control to refresh. I am using soap to get information from a web service. I have an XML writer output the file to a folder, and then I read it back into the dataset using the dataset1.readxml. Up to this point, everything works wonderfully. The query executes, the dataset gets populated, and I get the results displayed in the datagrid.

This is a two part question, 1) The code below should display a form with a datagridview and a few command buttons. This form should allow the user to make change to the records displayed in the datagridview and have to changes written to the Filters table in an MS Access database. The if the user chooses, clicking on the Restore button empties the contents of the Filters table, refills it with the contents of the DefaulFilters...

I am trying to give the user dynamic search capabilities to select almost any record in the database from criteria they select. Everything seems to work except when I open the display form to display the data to the user. If that form is already open, how do I make it refresh its data source and display the new data. Here is what I am doing. >From a text entry form, I create an SQL query dymanically and alter the sql statement of an...

Hello, I have conditional formatting set up on a subform based on a calculated value in the underlying query. For instance, if Sales are >$1000, the query displays "Yes," otherwise it displays "No." The conditional formatting is set up to read the 'Yes' or 'No' value and color the text accordingly. I have an event in the subform that allows users to update the sales. It actually runs an update query behind the scenes. What I want to...

Using Access 2003 front-end, with SQL Server 2005 backend. I need to make the front-end application automatically refresh the linked SQL Server tables. New tables will be added dynamically in the future, so the front-end application must have a way to keep up with this (instead of manually linking them).

Using A2003 w/ tables linked to SQL Server. All users have their own copy of the mdb. I have a combobox whose rowsource is a query. This query is based on a table and has a field in it that indicates if the record has been selected. When user1 selects the record from the combobox, the field is updated that the record has been selected. If user2 tries to select that same record, they get a warning that user1 has selected it and...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
