Hi,
I am currently developing an access database for books which contains
ISBN,author,tit le info etc...
I am trying to find an online book library or database that would allow me
to search for a particular
subject and export the results to csv for importing into my database. The
list needs to be detailed
and contain ISBN, author, year, pub lisher etc...
This is so I can test my database with real records. I've searched
universities, bookshops and
amazon etc...but none of these seem to have any facilities for exporting
your searches to csv
or tab-seperated lists.
If anyone here can give me some links or offer advice on how i can import
real sample data into my book
database, you would relieve me alot of cutting and pasting from HTML web
search pages.
Thanks.... 2 4794
Ho boy. so put in *fake* ones! You gotta be kidding! Search the
public library for records and copy and paste. get real, will ya?
Oh sure, write a parser using ADO or something. Or Perl or awk or
grep... and once your data is nice and clean, import into Access...
so your reply is simply....no, there are no websites that offer search
results in csv format ??
I do not want to use fake data because it is so easy to input similar data,
not enough randomness
to it. If i could obtain say 150 records of real data then I can be sure
that this data is in the exact form
and random nature I would expect in a real world scenario.
Sure I could use some perl script to extract HTML search data, but this is
too much work and does not
contain all the fields required. A simple exported csv list from a book
catalogue would suffice.
BTW...i'm not looking to steal the world's library records of books and
authors !!!!

Not really a PostgreSQL question, but maybe somebody here knows the
answer!
I recently purchased Groff and Weinberg's The Complete Reference SQL,
and a fine meaty tome it is too!
However, I find to my absolute *_horror_* that there doesn't appear to
be an electronic version of the sample database - it's all down on paper

Ciao a tutti.

Hi Group!
I'm looking for a tutorial in using SQL-DMO, or some sample code that will
allow me to let my users switch the SQL Server database that the front end
app is linking to as a back end.
I know that this is quite simple if the front end is an adp/ade, but for now
it's an mde, and will have to be for a while yet (it's too complex to upsize
overnight).

Does anybody have a real-world sample of buiding a treeview control using
data from database tables? All the sample code I have found either builds
the treeview manually or uses a file directory as the sample.
I have trouble translating those samples to working with data coming from my
database, so I am hoping that someone could show me a sample of code that
builds a tree from say a dataset.
Many controls you can bind to a datasource,...

You are to write a card catalog type definition. There are up to 1000 books, and for each one you need:
Title
A list of up to 5 authors
Catalog number
A list of up to 5 subject headings
Status (checked out or in the library)
Write a function “SearchBySubject” that takes as parameters the database of books and a subject (string). It should find all books with that subject and print their title, first author, and catalog number.

I am running MS Access 2007 and I want to update an Outlook Address book from my Access Database. I started out by importing the Outlook Address Book as a linked table and it linked fine. I then built a query to filter a master contact list of contacts and I made it an append query to added to the linked Outlook address book table. However, I am getting an error message that says I do not have the necessary permissions to use this object.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
